A couple years ago a friend recommended I call Ann Hornaday—whom I’d never met—to ask her advice on a story I was nervous about. Ann talked to me for 45 minutes, suggested sources and boosted my confidence. She was cool and smart and incredibly gracious.
“I’m elated. I’m relieved.”
Makan Delrahim, chief legal officer of Paramount Skydance, on the judge’s approval today of the Paramount-WBD deal. He’s currently speaking at #TheGrill2026.
“CBS News is a handful of hours of programming. CNN is 24-7, just completely different markets… Am I concerned that CBS and CNN somehow foreclose access to information? No.”

Someone has already added an Emmys reference to the Amazon description of “A Guy’s Guide to Being a Man’s Man.”
Is it me or is the show moving fast? Like we’re halfway through the awards and this Emmys may actually come in under 3 hours. Tight transitions, brief speeches and of course those categories controversially cut from the telecast.
Kind of a muted reaction to the sad stuff in the room. (Dolly/In Memoriam) Maybe it’s just where I’m seated or it’s staged more dramatically for TV or maybe it’s that people here haven’t eaten since their limos picked them up 6 hours ago.
A major difference between the Emmys and the Oscars: At this show the writer’s award is a far bigger deal than the director’s. This room lost its dang mind for Pluribus’s Vince Gilligan.
