Tbh I do think it’s mainly the art that makes this so OOC, Sonic can have a second of doubt, but he’ll work through it within that same second. He doesn’t dwell on negativity. I think he should have a more stoic look, that makes it hard to read what he’s feeling.

Charlie, your voice carries far today. You were a father. A brother. A husband. I think your wife loved you.
And it was all cut short. But what wasn't cut short was your impact. An empty crater that is. Today, deadass nobody voted for your ideals. You died for nothing lmfao.

Really funny how an official (and one of the best) writers will look you dead in the face and say its inaccurate and people will still try to argue it

I feel like Sonic Riders opening as a kid rewired my brain chemistry for me, so I can’t imagine if a young person opens the game and saw this that it wouldn’t have the same effect.
SUPER good decision to make this the updated opening
🎬 Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Version 2.0 has added Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds - The Animation as one of the game's opening intros!
This marks the first time a promotional Sonic animation has been included in the game itself! 🏁

Been seeing people call this scene OOC, citing Unleashed. Unleashed was about how Sonic doesn't willingly give in to darkness, not immunity to supernatural forces. The Gloom Bell is closer to Darkspine, Dark Sonic, or the Ifrit. An outside force acting on him, rather than choice

If this was Archie Sonic (who was originally supposed to go through this, since Metal Virus was originally supposed to be an Archie story), I think this would be totally fine
But, SEGASonic (the guy from the games and the IDW comics) shouldn't act like this
