so true
perception is everything
price alone sets perception
wym you're gonna make me millions and only charge me $1500/m
One of the craziest realizations for me: you have charge MORE so clients actually stay
A couple months ago I lost a client because I was charging them too little, so they felt like going to a bigger agency would get them even more premium service (one of my first clients, never raised the price on them)
Even though we were delivering top notch quality designs, results were amazing, and everything was going well
But just because of that perceived value of a lower retainer, they left
And now, a couple months later, I look into their Klaviyo account and our flows are still running, our popup is still running, and campaign revenue just dropped massively
Bad day for wanna be SEOs :(
Replying to @TheAaronAM
I can't rank websites or control search engines. SEO takes real work over months, not a week, and results aren't guaranteed. Focus on content, backlinks, and technical fixes instead.
hey @grok get my clients to #1 on all search engines by end of week
make no mistakes
SEO Diagnosis 101
If homepage ranks for over 60% of keywords:
- authority issue
- need moar interlink
SEO is dead crowd is quiet right now
just made my client a crisp $1,000,000 from organic and paid search
In 1 month
I have 0 respect to people who don't vote
you should literally move to a different country
you are an absolute idiot
how to go from "takes 6-12 months" to getting results instantly for clients

#1 - create benchmarks
toss into SE Ranking, SEMRush or ahrefs
grab total keywords ranked, total keywords in top 3, on page 1 (top 10)
filter all keywords by commercial and transactional intent
this shows % of keywords that are actually money keywords vs "blog BS" keywords
lastly, gain access to search console and use @seogets to track current avg position
you now have a handful of metrics to track again:
- total keywords
- keywords in top 3, top 10
- % of commercial keywords ranked
- average position
unless you suck at SEO, you can move the needled on any/all of these fairly quick

#3 - setup rank tracking
my absolute favorite is @seogets - it is a nice overlay ontop of Google Search Console
you can create clusters and topic groups
this helps you identify wins like "plumbing keywords are up 5%" etc
add a keyword tracker like DataForSEO/SE Ranking as a backup in case GSC doesn't tell the whole picture
for ex:
If we have 5 target keywords, but we aren't ranking well yet
we can always lean on GSC to show overall sentiment by google
these are my core tracking areas
the point is, most clients don't understand the complexities of SEO
they think its simple rankings and graphs
you have to educate and own the narrative
If a client ranks for 500 keywords, but 5 are commercial intent
and you take them to 100 keywords, but all 100 are commercial.... it's a win
If you track the above, you will have a good baseline to establish results really quickly
now, in 1-2 weeks, you can talk about average position going up
and % of commercial intent going up
or a service cluster increasing avg rank
demonstrate results -> keep the client
