Kisumu Central detectives have intercepted a black Toyota Prado and arrested two suspects believed to be behind a series of robberies in Kisumu town and its environs, following a high-speed chase.
The pursuit followed a robbery report by a woman who told police that she and her friends had been robbed of five mobile phones by individuals travelling in a black Toyota Prado.
Armed with actionable intelligence, detectives swung into action, trailing down the vehicle believed to be connected to the robbery.
Their search led them to the black Prado, registration number KDX 642Y. But when detectives moved in to intercept it, the driver had other ideas.
Defying police orders to stop, he floored the accelerator, setting the stage for a high-stakes pursuit through the town.
Hot on the vehicle’s trail, the detectives pressed on, determined to bring the fleeing occupants to a halt.
When the driver continued to defy their orders, officers fired at the vehicle’s tyres, puncturing them near Oile Park.
With its tyres deflated, the Prado veered out of control before crashing into an electric pole with a deafening bang! The impact damaged the vehicle’s front-right side, bringing the attempted getaway to an end.
Two suspects, William Onyango Odhiambo and Felix Owino Onyango, were arrested as they attempted to flee from the wrecked vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a black pistol and three mobile phones, all detained as exhibits as detectives intensified investigations into the suspects’ involvement in a string of cross-border robberies.
The two suspects remain in custody undergoing processing pending arraignment.

Kenya is quite the paradox. Our refugee camps shelter people fleeing wars in neighbouring countries, while our posh estates are home to the families of the very warlords accused of driving them from their homes.
The victims seek refuge here. So do the families of their tormentors. From the 70s to now. Whenever there is a humanitarian crisis in Rwanda, South Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Uganda...
You can guarantee that you will bump into wives and children of 'persons of interest' living their best lives in uptown Nairobi malls and schools
Succession jitters send Uganda’s elite house-hunting in neighbouring Nairobi.

They are writing matches off. Incredible really.
Michael Carrick to be given time to turn things in around at #MUFC. Expected to be in charge for Chelsea on Saturday live on @talkSPORT

This’ll be the 3rd season in the last 6 that we’ve written off by Christmas. Can’t keep doing this.
There needs to be an indefinite ban on ex players commenting on United matters.
🔥 Wayne Rooney TEARS into Manchester United players: “NOT FIT TO WEAR THE SHIRT!”
This is as critical as I’ve ever seen Rooney about his former club. He’s raging, and rightly so. Michael Carrick is a Manchester United legend and a close friend of Rooney’s, so this one clearly hits a little harder than usual.
On Stick to United with @markgoldbridge, he went straight for the players who love the spotlight when things are good but disappear the second it gets tough, like Bruno, Martinez, Rashford and the rest:
“Where’s Rashford now? Things get tough, where’s Rashford? You need to play through the pain barrier. You need to be ready, to give everything for the club, and they’re not doing that.”
He didn’t stop there. After that abysmal performance against Bournemouth, Rooney said he was pleased when the fans stopped clapping Carrick off and turned their fury on the players:
“I was really pleased when they switched from clapping Michael off the pitch, and then they’ve turned on them players. They’re not fit to wear that shirt at the minute. I don’t think they ever will be. The least you can do is work and show that it means something and that you care.”
Rooney said the five-year-olds he coaches understand something these multi-millionaires don’t: You run. You chase. You fight for every ball. This squad can’t even manage the basics!
Rooney finished by expressing frustration that the same players are doing it again to another manager, and will almost certainly get away with it:
“Honestly, watching it’s just so annoying and frustrating and disappointing that these players are gonna get away with it again.”
Ruthless from Rooney. He is speaking for the fans here. They know Carrick hasn’t been good enough, but he’s a club legend who cares deeply about Manchester United and is giving his all.
The players have given up. They don’t even run, and that is unforgivable! The fans will back you no matter what if you give your best, but they will never accept what these players are doing.
Right now these players are a disgrace to the shirt, to the badge, and to everything Manchester United is supposed to stand for.

Traveling from Nakuru to Eldoret via Eldama Ravine and Torongo, I saw many Cess road blocks. Do county governments actually collect much money using this method?

Those who wanted Amorim gone last year, when United were 6th, level with 5th & 3 pts off 4th.
Do you think about that situation differently now knowing United are 16th with the players downing tools and another manager on the brink of the sack within 10 months?

I agree with the sentiment but think this is the wrong coach to do it with.
If you’re going to do this, do it with a ruthless project manager who has history for it or a proven winner with a track record of eventual success.

I’m sick of hearing how bad these players are from the same people who told me these players were “underachieving” when they sat 6th in January and when they “would have won the Premier league” had Carrick arrived sooner. They’re not suddenly shit. Your manager is the problem.

There are multiple times Carrick has gone out of his way to protect the board.
Let’s see if he continues to do it or sides with the club/fans for a change.

Yeah those players showed a response against Bournemouth after Como 👍
🚨 Sources say EVERYONE is focused on SHOWING a response on the pitch at Stamford Bridge following United’s worst start to a league season in 40 years. #MUFC [@ChrisWheelerDM]
🚨 Roy Keane on Manchester United keeping Michael Carrick:
“You’ve just been humiliated by Bournemouth at Old Trafford. You’re near the relegation places, haven’t won in eight league games, and the people running the club decide to carry on as normal.
Carry on with what? What exactly are we protecting?
I keep hearing that Michael Carrick cares deeply about United. Of course he does. He played here, won trophies. Nobody’s questioning that.
But since when did loving Manchester United qualify you to manage Manchester United?
There are 70,000 people at Old Trafford who love the club. Some have watched this rubbish for years. Maybe give one of them the job.
I’ve said from the beginning I didn’t believe Michael was the right man. That’s not personal. But this is Manchester United, not a job you hand somebody because he’s a nice fella.
And the people above him are an even bigger problem.
I’ll tell you what I imagine those meetings are like.
Somebody walks in after Bournemouth and asks, ‘Right, what are we doing about the manager?’
Another fella says, ‘Well, the supporters were still applauding him.’
So what?
They were applauding a former player who gave years to the club. They weren’t celebrating getting battered by Bournemouth.
But I wouldn’t put it past this lot to think, ‘The crowd still likes Michael. Maybe we can get another week out of him.’
That’s the level of leadership we’re dealing with.
And now they’re sending him to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are better than Bournemouth. They’ll punish you if you turn up like that again.
What bothers me is that the people running United seem to have started negotiating how badly they can afford to lose.
I can almost hear it.
‘Michael, listen. We know Chelsea are a good team. We’re not expecting miracles. Just make sure it isn’t another humiliation.’
And somebody says, ‘If we lose 1-0, at least we can call it an improvement.’
An improvement?
You’re Manchester United!
When I was there, if somebody came into our dressing room suggesting a 1-0 defeat was respectable, he’d have been told to get out.
We lost matches. We got beaten by better teams. But you went into every match believing you could win. That was the minimum.
Now the people making decisions seem to be hoping the next defeat doesn’t make headlines for too long.
That’s not ambition. That’s damage limitation.
Look at the supporters travelling to Stamford Bridge, spending their money, taking time away from their families. They’ll still turn up believing United can win. They’ll sing and demand that the players fight for every ball.
How can the supporters have more belief in Manchester United than the people paid to run it?
And don’t tell me sacking another manager won’t solve everything. Of course it won’t. Recruitment has been poor, leadership has been poor, and too many players have got away with unacceptable performances.
But you don’t keep making the wrong decision because you’ve made wrong decisions before.
If Michael isn’t the right man, make a decision. If you believe he is, explain why. Show some leadership.
Instead they’re hiding behind a man who served the club brilliantly as a player, leaving him to face the cameras while everybody else disappears.
I don’t feel sorry for him. I only feel sorry for the supporters.
Because the frightening thing about United isn’t that they’re losing matches.
It’s that the people in charge are starting to behave as though losing is perfectly normal.”

The fans who sang his name and booed the players are part of the problem.
Where was this support when Ten Hag, Ole and Amorim were in charge? Suddenly, being English earns you special treatment.
Now they can watch the same players they booed drag this club towards disaster.
GOOD NEWS!!
Good he’s staying. I’ve always wanted Michael Carrick to stay till, at least, January and I’m glad GLINEOS have all agreed to let him stay.
Even after the players have known he has 0 tactics and good game plan, the board, matchday fans, media and club legends are solidly behind him and that’s what I want.
I want more worse records to come under “A Club Legend”, I want more worse records to be set while playing “United DNA football”, I want that worse league finish to come under a club legend “who knows the club in and out”.
The worst start of a season has already come under Michael Carrick but it seems like nothing so I want more to come.
DNA football must finish Manchester United!
Let’s sit back and enjoy till January, at least.
