My 2 cents advice to African founders:
Don’t raise money because an investor wants you to become “pan-African.”
Raising $20m doesn’t make Lagos closer to Nairobi, Accra closer to Cairo, or Johannesburg closer to Dakar.
Physical infrastructure makes geography smaller. Capital doesn’t.
Until Africa solves that, premature pan-African expansion is often just expensive fragmentation disguised as growth.
It took America ~150 years to get it's first truly pan-American company. The Africa we know now is about ~60years. Let's build with patience.
