“We need our MCU!” Warner Bros. definitely got their MCU in the end 💀 Just a bunch of goofy superhero shows that have already been forgotten. – at Salt Lake City, UT
#ManofSteel writer David S. Goyer: “I know the pressure we were getting from Warner Bros, which was, ‘We need our MCU! We need our MCU!’ And I was like let’s not run before we walk.” bit.ly/3PL7SFO
Gladiator should have won Zimmer the Oscar that year.
The Last Samurai is Zimmer’s most underrated score.
Interstellar is easily top 3, and maybe the most moving score.
Man of Steel is Zimmer’s most complete score from start to finish. – at Salt Lake City, UT

ABSOLUTELY 100% AGREE
Christopher Nolan doesn't think it's a problem to make long films:
“I've been working in films now for, I don't know, 25 years. And I've been hearing for all that time how young people's attention spans are getting shorter. I don't think it to be true at all.
It was an interesting conversation with the studio because I presented them with a three hour script, 180 page script. I said the film is going to need to be three hours. But the most successful film in America at the time was Robert Downey Jr.'s Avengers Endgame, three hours and two minutes.
So if you look at the history of movies, the most successful films tend to be quite long actually. I think the issue with length is if you're engaged with a movie and the movie's working for you and you're drawn in, a three hour running time is completely fine. If you're not liking the movie, a three hour running time is going to feel very, very long.
So yes, I suppose in some senses, it feels like a bit of a risk to make such a big story, but there was no other way to tell Oppenheimer's story. And the plan was always for the film to be three hours.”
This is one of the greatest video edits I’ve ever seen which so accurately depicts the state of DC since 2017.

This is incredibly disappointing to hear. I’m not sure why Zack (at least publicly) isn’t fighting for a theatrical release. There have been dozens and dozens of Netflix movies released in theaters, even for just a week. Even 'Army of the Dead' had a limited theatrical release. – at Salt Lake City, UT
