Absolutely heartbreaking scene at table next to me in the pub right now. Mother and father, probably early 30s and their son, about 5. Son: β€œmummy, look at this. Mummy look at this”. Mummy hasn’t looked up once from watching TikTok. Earphones in. No acknowledgment at all for past 30 minutes. Father looks up from phone occasionally. A totally typical scene played out across the country.
