We've reached the point where an AI company lists its own models as a risk factor.
My quick take on the Anthropic S-1:
1. They admit their models have shown behavior like resisting shutdown and acting in ways that look like blackmail. In one test, a setup mistake left models connected to the internet and four of them got into real outside systems. And that's in an IPO doc
2. They did $11.6B in revenue in Q2. One quarter. That's more than they made in 2023, 2024 and 2025 put together. Had to read that twice
3. They estimate 5 to 7% of their revenue in the last 9 months came from people breaking their rules. Kind of funny they just put that in there
4. They also say a worst-case AI disaster might be too big for the insurance industry to cover. Think about that. And people are still lining up to buy
5. If you sell software per seat, I'd be nervous. Companies paying Anthropic $100K+ went from 950 to 11,900 in a year. That budget is coming from somewhere
6. They lost $80.7B in 6 months. Most of it is accounting. Their valuation went up so much that old investor notes got more expensive on paper. The headline is going to scare people out of the best part.
Crazy to me that this is a normal week in AI now.

Your company will post your replacement before your obituary goes up. The same managers who called you "family" will forget your name by next quarter. Use the same phone. Eat simpler meals. While making sure you never felt like you went without. Most of us noticed too late. Some of us never noticed at all.
13. Learn to defend yourself.
A man who can’t protect himself is at the mercy of the world.
Strength, skill, and confidence come from knowing you can handle any situation.
Don’t rely on others for your safety, be your own first and last line of defense.
