Parents - share this great resource! Right here in @MariettaCitySch we have kids who need help over the holidays.
Schools across America have been distributing info on FoodFinder before #winterbreak. We celebrate the holidays, but this is an extremely tough time for families on free/reduced lunch. By using FoodFinder, we can ensure the holidays are joyous for everyone.

Becoming a trauma informed school thanks to people like Vicki who donated money, time, knowledge, and even aromatherapy, art supplies, and music supplies to help our kids process, heal, and learn ❤️
Investing today in our belief that a collective approach of support for students and families results in better learning outcomes for our students. Thanks to Vicki Sherrard for teaching us well! @TheCornerHH
The Dwell Apts partnered w/@HH_Dragons to connect early literacy resources with Spanish speaking parents @ our parent coffee talk w/@LuzMontanez3 leading the way! She led with energy & instruction; they followed w/smiles & knowledge. Thanks @LuzMontanez3!

When we asked 6th graders what they wish they had learned @ HHE, they said “life lessons”, confidence, & what to do in hard times - mentors help our kids w/these life lessons. Kids WANT more for their life!
When I asked student athletes recently what the number one change was that they’d like to make in their life—their response surprised me. Most of them agreed: “I need to be less impulsive in my decisions.”

How often do we challenge our kids to not just go deep in the text but deep in their thinking?! 3C uses partnerships and question stems to think about how their thinking changed. Great for reading & even better for life.

Students need a place to calm down, release energy, and refresh their minds, just like adults! Even more so. Calm down corners help! Tks to community partners who value mental health for the player, headphones, music, & calming coloring books. @HH_Dragons @CentergyProject

Honor the reason you became an educator in the first place. Thank you @CentergyProject for those great words of wisdom shared today with @GOSA_GA and @HH_Dragons @PrincipalMosley

What the next gen needs most is healthy mentors–who care more about preparing kids than protecting them.

Being kind is also about having empathy. Teach students about the meaning of empathy with a little help from @sesamestreet and @MarkRuffalo. (PreK-1) bit.ly/2IyCLZK

Perhaps #worldsgreatest mentor?! Thank you for being here!
Spent the morning working on addition, reading about Abraham Lincoln and playing a competitive game of #candyland with my @HH_Dragons mentee. I especially loved all the @Braves gear students and teachers were sporting. It was a great way to start my Thursday! @TheCornerHH

Our greatest barriers are often the ones we build in our own minds. The brain naturally defends itself from anything uncomfortable, which means we have to be intentional about our mindset. It takes work! We have to push back on our own level of comfort. #JoyfulLeaders – at Arkansas, USA

Playing it safe doesn’t lead to greatness. Neither does micro-management. Love that our admin and Central Office have been pushing us to greatness by encouraging innovation and empowerment. @HH_Dragons @MariettaCitySch

As October & National Bullying Prevention Month approach, we're challenging everyone to be more kind. Share our Kindness Bingo with your class, your colleagues, or even friends and challenge them to a little "kind competition."
