I had a nutty time last night interviewing Suggs and Mike from the mighty MADNESS On Stage Beyond a screening of BFI's restored TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT last night at Finsbury Park Picturehouse...
On this day 30 years ago, The Dylan Rabbit played a final gig at their spiritual home - West London's Premier Music Venue The Red Lion in Brentford. A happy and sad day. A month later it closed forever making way for a McDonald's.
It was 36 years ago today that The Dylan Rabbit won the Barnfield Battle Of The Bands. It set us on the road to fame and fortune. A real life rags to rags story.
25 years or so ago we had the legendary Rodney Slater, of the Bonzo Dog Band, play saxophone on our one and only CD release. A while later we visited him in his home village and he performed his amusing extending arms routine for us.
On this day 35 years ago The Dylan Rabbit played a gig at the Bacchus Wine Bar in Kingston. It was organised by a promoter known as The Sandwich Man. He gave us £20 in the gents toilets which I assume was payment for the gig. Amazingly the Bacchus Wine Bar is still going strong!

For those like me who are tired of the television advertisement which stole Roger Whittaker I give you the whole thing from the superb Roger himself - yes I have nicked this off YouTube but yes he's magnificent

30 years on from finding out Lindsay Anderson directed this, it still blows my mind more than it should…or maybe not enough?
3 years ago today, The Dylan Rabbit rocked the World. And Carshalton EcoFair . And we were honoured that fellow Hounslownian Britpop royalty came to watch us!

Another reminder of being old. Server at the cafe I’m in gave me a bent spoon.
‘Looks like Uri Geller’s been at your cutlery.’
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

The Main Attraction (27th August 1983). Tessie O'Shea makes her penultimate television appearance (her final one came in December 1984 when she was the subject of This Is Your Life).
Gigs on the day in 1992, from Aldershot to Trowbridge. We played in West Hampstead that night. Anyone remember going to any of the gigs listed here?
