🔴 An Electrum user lost funds just by trying to speed up a transaction No stolen seed phrase. No fake wallet download. Hackers found a way to trick Electrum, one of Bitcoin's oldest wallets, into getting users to approve payments to the wrong address. Here's what happened. Imagine sending a package to your friend. A dishonest delivery worker intercepts it, secretly changes the destination to his own house, and tells you the package is stuck. You pay extra to speed up delivery. But here's the catch: you've just approved sending the package to the thief. That's essentially how this attack worked. Hackers used malicious servers to replace legitimate Bitcoin transactions with fake ones inside the wallet's history. When users tried to speed up their payments by increasing the transaction fee, the wallet could sign the attacker's transaction instead. The hackers even made their wallet addresses end with the same four characters as the real recipient's address. Electrum received two reports, including one confirmed loss, and released a security fix on October 24, 2026. The scary part? The attacker didn't need your private keys. They tricked the wallet into getting you to authorize the theft. If you use Electrum, update to version 4.8.3 or later and always verify the full destination address before signing. Your crypto security is only as strong as the information you're trusting.

We stand with @Ledger through this incident, just as we'd stand with @Trezor or any other player facing a security crisis. We're competitors, but we're building the same category. The goal is to make crypto safer, we should be raising the bar together, not tearing each other down.

When trust in self-custody suffers, we all lose. When a market leader suffers a security incident, the entire hardware wallet industry takes a hit. Dancing on Ledger's grave to sell your own product isn't the flex you think it is. Every hardware wallet has its own security trade-offs, strengths, and vulnerabilities. No solution is perfect. We're at a point where the entire category needs to focus on security hardening, transparency, and rebuilding consumer trust, not exploiting each other's failures for marketing. I'm with @Dantoshi here.
For media and creators: we’re happy to walk you through the technical details of this incident and explain why the seedless approach is the way and why a simpler wallet means fewer places to hide. Reach us at [email protected]

🚨 Over $90M in crypto reportedly stolen from 300+ wallets. Early investigations point to a potential supply-chain attack involving devices sold through a @Ledger reseller in Southeast Asia, rather than a breach of Ledger's infrastructure. The exact attack method remains unconfirmed. Our thoughts are with everyone affected. Losing your hard-earned savings is devastating. At Ryder, we believe security isn't about competing with other hardware wallets. We're all working toward the same mission: making self-custody safer for everyone. We've published a series of articles covering: → What investigators have uncovered so far → How hardware wallet supply-chain attacks could happen → Why protecting your recovery phrase is critical → How these security considerations influenced Ryder One's design Incidents like this remind us why we build what we build. The industry gets stronger when we learn from each other. We hope those affected get the answers and support they deserve. Read our full coverage 👇

This is not about @Ledger versus @RyderWallet or @Trezor. It's about protecting the people who trust our industry with their savings. We stand with those affected and hope the ongoing investigation brings answers, accountability, and stronger security practices for everyone.

TOKEN2049 was about being in the right rooms. Marvin Janssen, Co-Founder of Ryder, catching up with people from: → @maxime_bucaille of @DraperVC → @samizb of @DraperDragon @OrionFund → @F_Gregaard from @Cardano Different ecosystems. Different perspectives. Same question: What does the next generation of crypto actually need? For us, the answer is still simple: better self-custody. Good week in Singapore. More coming!

Sorry but this is what $STX needed. Watch closely @muneeb will take @Stacks to Valhalla. Crypto runs on narratives, and there’s still no stronger narrative than Bitcoin. Bitcoin and @Stacks was my first love, then spent the last few years getting exposure to other ecosystems like @Solana. More recently, I’ve also been in close touch with teams across @Cardano and @Ripple. After seeing how different ecosystems operate up close, I still believe @Stacks has one of the most promising narratives in crypto. The opportunity is turning that Bitcoin narrative into real execution, products, users, and capital is "REAL". After also working closely with @renapshah through the Stacks Endowment board committee, she’s genuinely S-tier++ when it comes to execution. Probably one of the best operators I’ve seen aside from @vibhu of @solana With @muneeb pushing the ecosystem forward "again" $STX is entering a very interesting chapter. DYOR. I’ll share my full breakdown on @Stacks soon.
Top 5 things I’m doing in the first 30 days as CEO: (1) Expand the institutional BD machine. Bitcoin bonds are seeing increased demand. We want to shorten the time from first interest to going live. Speed matters. (2) Simplified leadership structure. Empower our rockstars and clarify what decisions I make. I’ll hear all input and then make quick decisions. We’ll move like a startup on fire. (3) Publish a 2-year roadmap, beyond bitcoin capital markets. How institutional-grade BTC privacy and post-quantum fit into our roadmap. We’re the frontier of bitcoin. (4) Public comms & investor meetings. I’m meeting large holders 1-1 and updating them on the latest thesis and traction. First public holders update call within 30 days. (5) Clarify value accrual. We’ll assign all IP to the endowment, which has no shareholders, making it crystal clear that all value accrues to STX. Publish value accrual mechanics: why bitcoin bonds fuel growth. I’ve been in this industry for 13 years, and I’m coming back at the helm as CEO. Building on the frontier of Bitcoin is my dream job. We’ll be building in public. Anyone can join us. The ticker is $STX.

September 2026 was a brutal month for crypto security. $684M+ reportedly stolen - the worst month of 2026. → Bitget: $351.6M lost → D’CENT: 6,678 wallets reportedly drained → XRP holders hit across multiple attack waves → Stolen funds rapidly swapped across chains and moved toward off-ramps And it exposed something bigger: Keeping crypto on an exchange creates counterparty risk. Self-custody removes that risk but introduces another responsibility: protecting your keys, recovery method, software and every interaction around them. The lesson from September? Owning your keys is only step one. Protecting them is everything.

TLDR; on @bitget hack Someone figured out how to trick Bitget’s system into sending them around $352 million in crypto. According to its CEO, they didn’t even steal the secret keys. They made fake transfer instructions look real, and Bitget’s own system approved them. Imagine a bank accepting a forged payment request and sending the money, that’s the idea. The wallets they use for everyday transfers got hit, but their offline storage was untouched. Once Bitget spotted what was happening, it stopped withdrawals while it investigated. @bitget says it has enough money in its protection fund to cover the loss, so customers’ balances haven’t changed. So funds are SAFU But imagine opening your account, seeing your money there, and still being unable to take it out. You’re stuck waiting, even though you didn’t do anything wrong. When an exchange holds your crypto, you’re relying on them to let you access it. With your own hardware wallet, you hold the keys but keeping the wallet and recovery backups safe becomes your responsibility. DYOR always!
BREAKING: $352M stolen from @Bitget. > Withdrawals are currently frozen > Bitget says it can cover the loss but customers are still waiting to move their crypto > If you're a user your balance is there and you can't access it.
