A closer look at Treats in Fox Styler 🦊🍎 Fox Styler currently has 36 different Treats across Common, Uncommon, and Rare tiers - and they’re not just different pictures of food. Each Treat can have its own effect on your Fox, its own reaction dialogue, and eventually its own way of being discovered. Some Treats may come from Fox Finds. Some may be brought back from a Roam - maybe your Fox found a stand, wandered through a market, convinced someone to give it something, or acquired it through means we will not be investigating. 😂 Some fit Vacation much better. Your Fox might try something while away and decide: “You need to try this.” So they bring some home. And certain Treats can come from Special Moments instead - including moments where your Fox specifically saves, makes, or brings something back to share with you. 🥹 Treat rewards also won’t always mean just one piece. Depending on the Treat, the event, and the Fox’s Skills/context, they may occasionally come back with extras. The Treat is selected first, and quantity is handled separately - so finding 3 of something does not mean 3 separate rarity rolls. Skills can matter too. Foraging may help when gathering enough to bring extras. Curiosity may reveal unusual places or food stands. Cleverness can matter in certain vendor or problem-solving situations. Boldness may be why your Fox approached in the first place. And Mischief may explain why nobody is quite sure how the food became theirs. 😭 There are also some more specific authored routes we’re building. For example, leaving your Fox Roaming too long may occasionally lead to something like: Someone found your increasingly irritated Fox and gave them something questionable. And instead of eating it… they brought it back to you. Which is how you may end up being presented with a Questionable Jerky and a Fox that has decided this is now your problem. 😂 One of the parts I’m most excited about is the dialogue. All 36 Treats already have their own item-specific reaction pools when you give them to your Fox. We’re also building acquisition dialogue around how the Fox got the Treat in the first place. So the flow can become: Fox finds Treat → tells you what it brought home → remembers where it came from → Treat goes into its Backpack → later you give that same Treat back to the Fox → and the Fox can recognize it as the thing they brought home. Tiny details like that are exactly what we want Fox Styler to be full of. Not just: item acquired but: “Oh. I remember this.” 🦊✨

Our very first minter @treowx just came back for 10 more. 🦊✨ There’s something incredibly special about seeing the person who started the minting journey with us return to grow their pack. Thank you for being here from the very first fox and for continuing to believe in what we’re building. 🧡

Collector Skills Update: A deeper look at Skills in Fox Styler 🦊 Fox Styler has six Skills: Curiosity · Agility · Cleverness · Boldness · Foraging · Mischief These are not just “stats that make loot better,” and there isn’t one best build. Skills help shape what your Fox can notice, reach, attempt, solve, discover, and how they may respond to different situations. A Curious Fox may notice something another Fox walks past. An Agile Fox may be able to reach somewhere difficult. A Clever Fox may find a different solution. A Bold Fox may actually attempt something another Fox refuses. A Foraging Fox may recognize that something is worth bringing home. And a Mischievous Fox may discover an entirely different option that probably should not have been available in the first place. 😂 Permanent Skills vs Effective Skills Each Fox has permanent base Skills that can grow over time. Those base Skills are part of that Fox’s long-term development. Wardrobe can then temporarily modify those Skills. So if your Fox has: Curiosity 5 and equips something that gives: +2 Curiosity their effective Curiosity becomes 7 while that item is equipped. That can temporarily open opportunities that the Fox would not otherwise qualify for, without permanently changing its base Skill. This is important because clothing helps shape what your Fox can do right now, while experience shapes what your Fox becomes over time. Skills and Roam Skills directly affect Roam. When your Fox leaves, Fox Styler takes a snapshot of its current effective Skills. That snapshot can affect: which encounters the Fox is eligible for which kinds of opportunities can appear which results are more likely to fit that Fox whether certain multi-Skill situations are available Changing clothes after the Fox has already left will not change that Roam. The Fox leaves with the Skill profile it had at departure. Skills do not guarantee a result. A Fox with high Foraging is not guaranteed to find an item. A Fox with high Curiosity is not guaranteed a rare discovery. Instead, those Skills help determine which possibilities are even available to that Fox. Skills can grow through experiences Permanent Skill growth comes from meaningful authored experiences, not from repeatedly clicking buttons. A normal Roam does not automatically give Skill points. Certain encounters can. For example, a Fox that has a meaningful Agility-based encounter may gain permanent Agility experience from it. A Cleverness-based encounter may grow Cleverness. A Mischief-heavy situation may improve Mischief. Some experiences can involve two Skills, but they share one growth amount rather than doubling rewards. The current progression scale is: minor experience: +5 standard experience: +10 significant experience: +15 major milestone: +20 exceptional one-time moment: +25 max Skills use a long-term rank system, so development is meant to feel gradual. Your Fox should not become a master of everything in a few days. Foxes are meant to develop differently This is one of the most important parts of the system. We are not designing Skills around the idea that every Fox will eventually become: 10 Curiosity 10 Agility 10 Cleverness 10 Boldness 10 Foraging 10 Mischief The goal is for Foxes to naturally develop uneven Skill profiles based on what actually happens to them. One Fox might become highly Curious and Clever. Another might lean heavily into Agility and Boldness. Another may somehow become extremely good at Foraging and Mischief, which sounds like a problem waiting to happen. 😅 Those differences will affect what each Fox can experience over time. Skills also affect dialogue Skills are not only used for Roam. They are now part of the contextual dialogue system too. Dialogue can consider things like: Trust current live state interaction type recent history repetition milestones Roam experiences Skill levels So the same situation can potentially produce different reactions depending on the Fox. A highly Curious Fox may have more investigative responses. A Clever Fox may react differently to something it understands. A Mischievous Fox may have access to more questionable commentary. Skills do not replace personality or Trust progression. They simply add another layer to how the Fox responds to the world. Vacation can also shape Skills Vacation is separate from Roam, but occasionally something meaningful can happen while the Fox is away. Vacation Encounters are authored experiences too. If a Fox has a climbing-related Vacation experience, that may improve Agility. If it spends the trip investigating something strange, that may improve Curiosity. The experience determines the Skill. Vacation is not meant to be passive XP farming . Skill growth there is occasional and capped. What this all means The goal is not: “How do I build the strongest Fox?” The goal is: “What kind of Fox is mine becoming?” Over time, the Fox’s experiences, Skills, Wardrobe, Roam history, and dialogue all start interacting with each other. Two Foxes can leave for the same amount of time and come back with completely different possibilities available to them. And as those Foxes continue developing, those differences should become more noticeable. That’s the direction we’re building toward with Skills in Fox Styler. 🦊✨

A lot of people are asking for a Discord, and quite honestly, we're not prepared to take on that much responsibility that takes away from the hours of coding and building that we're working on every day. Instead, since we're such a small number at the moment, we're considering opening a GC here on X for holders to connect and stay up to date. Also to make sure that the devs are not dying..😅 If you'd be interested in being added to the chat, drop us a comment. (Holders only please.) We will share updates and try our best to stay in a persistent fox-like monitoring state to answer any questions that might arise along the course of the journey. Let us know! - Fox Queen 🦊
