American gun owners are looking north and watching Canada as a cautionary tale of what happens when a government runs amok with its firearms policies for nothing more than political gain.
It would be great if Ottawa could stop providing them the entertainment...

At the Valour Park Association 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭 in Wainwright, Alberta, Canada's National Firearms Association spoke with Hans Brink of the The Loyal Edmonton Regiment Military Museum and Valour Park to discuss an event that was about much more than a day on the range.
Hans takes us through the historically significant firearms featured at the shoot, explains why preserving Canada's military history matters, and shares some insight into the work, planning, and coordination required to make this landmark event happen.
From preserving historic firearms and keeping Canada's military heritage alive to bringing enthusiasts together for a good cause, this was an event worth remembering.
And Hans may just let the cat out of the bag about when we could see the next one!
Watch the interview, learn more about the history behind the firearms, and find out what it takes to make an event like this possible.
Canada's National Firearms Association was proud to sponsor this event, supporting the Loyal Edmonton Regiment Military Museum, the Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) Regimental Society, and the Valour Park Association.
The NFA had in attendance Ontario Director and Lobbyist Tom Mavin - @Feral999 , General Manager Ginger Fournier, Director at Large Nathaniel Milljour, and Alberta Director Dwayne Gorniak - @white_whisker .
It was great to see MLA Garth Rowswell of the UCP attending the event, and always a great time catching up with Avery Shoaf of Rust Valley Restorers fame.

WHY CANADA LOSES
Winning Countries: Firearm engineers design the best products they can, based on the laws of nature (physics, chemistry, etc.).
🇨🇦: Firearm engineers deliberately design INFERIOR products, based on the laws of Liberals.

It never ceases to be a wild stat to me that the main financier of gun control in the United States is worth more than the total economic activity of the entire gun industry in a given year.
Gun control orgs so desperately want to imagine themselves as David. But they are a big, authoritarian, nannystate Goliath.
Replying to @MorosKostas @StephenGutowski
There’s a multibillion dollar industry sitting on its hands waiting to return to the good old days where they could make the money while duping their customer base into sending donations to fund their lobbying/political spending. But people woke up.

Malcolm Gladwell does an amazing job taking research done by other people, adding his own reporting, and then writing it up in a compelling way. His forthcoming book on “The American Way of Killing” is a great example, judging from his Revisionist History podcast (2023) on the subject. In this Atlantic interview, he makes some good points that we already know from existing scholarship on the topic (which, unlike Gladwell, almost no one outside the field will ever read). Examples: It’s impossible to ban AR-15s because they are just semiautomatic rifles. Those concerned about gun violence should focus more on the violence than the guns. If you’re concerned about gun death, the best bang for your buck is to focus on suicide. The U.S. is not more criminal than other peer countries but our crime is more lethal because of guns. Criminal gun violence is situational and endemic not general and epidemic.

It has come to my attention that I have been denounced by @Advocates_Soc for criticizing judicial decisions — and yes, individual judges.
Here's the thing. When someone, for example, spends her lawyerly career writing op-eds in favour of migration and calling herself an activist, and then becomes a federal judge, and from that seat allows all sorts of undesirables to remain in Canada on weak grounds, people are free to draw a connection from A to B.
When a judge, for example, spends his lawyer years advocating fiercely for more race-based law, and then later throws out gun charges of black men on his (unsupported) assertion that police were racist during their arrests, people are free to question whether he's really a fair adjudicator.
When a judge, for example, says that a ban on drug trafficking is unconstitutional, and then *applauds* vigilante drug dealers for their self-proclaimed safe supply program — applauds them for supporting the business of organized crime and feeding the addictions of street people — that's beyond the pale. You're worried about democracy being poisoned? Worry about the judge who threw out Parliament's law against selling heroin because she felt it was "common sense" that it was supported by science.
I agree that it's not right to criticize a judge personally for impartially applying the law and coming to an unpopular decision (which they may even privately disagree with). But when their professional history, or their conduct in court, suggests allegiance to a cause that they happen to be ruling softly on, it will get noticed.
Bringing the administration of justice into disrepute is a two-way street, you know.
