Just gonna be blunt about QB at Michigan. Bryce Underwood is at his worst, and well below average, in true drop-backs. He’s sporadic and panics under pressure. When I hear someone say a QB is at their best on the move, in sprint out, etc, that tells me the guy can’t process or play the position, and that’s what I see from Bryce. Good thrower, good runner, bad at playing QB. I would put the odds at -700 that he’s not Michigan’s QB next season. The offensive line wasn’t great and I don’t love play calling, but let’s be real. Bryce Underwood is the biggest problem with this offense.

The simple concept was to correlate hemoglobinuria with active inflammation in IgA nephropathy. This large study confirmed the concept. Thanks for including me. Among patients with early #SepticShock, a personalized hemodynamic resuscitation protocol targeting capillary refill time was superior to usual care for the primary composite outcome, primarily driven by a lower duration of vital support. #LIVES2025 @ESICM ja.ma/4hv22Vc

Dialysis problem: 64M cirrhosis with high cardiac output state, HRS now on KRT awaiting SLK. Recently resuscitated for UGIB with hemorrhagic shock now 1+d without bleeding. VStable vitals on room air A+Ox3. Diarrhea from lactose. You decide not to remove fluid and to trial iHD.

His serum sodium is 149 mmol/L. You prescribe iHD with a predicted Kt/V of 1.0 against a dialysate sodium of 138 mmol/L. Ignoring Gibbs-Donnan, what would be the predicted loss of plasma volume l, if any. Would you proceed or adjust your prescription? #nephrotwitter @PennKidney

Brief life update: after 2 years of nephrologist by day and intensivist by night, I am working my first day in the ICU today. So far this morning we extubated everyone (full disclosure: only had two on vents). #sighofrelief #diuresisjedi #alwaysbeextubating

This one took a lot of self-directed learning and I'll admit it feels good. I have found echo skills to be extremely useful both in the ICU and on nephrology consults. #cceexam #echofirst

Thank you @nephrothaniel and @NephroP for organizing a great session! I was honored to be invited. It was great to put that @NBE_96 #cceexam board certification to work. #echofirst. @PennKidney

Jerry Yee and his leadership at Henry Ford changed my life. Aside from inspiring my interest in nephrology, particularly with his mastery -- and I mean mind-boggling mastery -- of acid/base physiology, the Nephrology-Critical Care presence at HFH he pioneered changed my career.
Today we mourn the passing of our colleague, mentor, and friend Jerry Yee. He was Division Chief of Nephrology at Henry Ford Hospital for >20 years and a world leader in nephrology. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed. @HFHNephFellow @HenryFordHealth @ASNKidney @nkf

I have often felt that I have him to thank for where I am today. I know many who feel the same. He was a tremendous visionary and leader. Aside from this he had an absolutely electric energy that inspired me to be better every time I spoke to him I'm shocked and saddened today.

This is not about me, it's about Hanan, my better half. If you have 5 minutes to spare, please read and enjoy pics of the Al-Balad music festival in Amman. This is for the spouses of IMGs, who are often lost and forgotten in the chaos of our careers. connection.asco.org/magazine…

Despite being a critical care fellow I've found many occasions this year to slip into my notes, "this patient should be on an SGLT2 inhibitor." Some people think I'm crazy, but I'm singing it from the rooftops!
