More than 20 have been reported killed.
Dozens were killed and injured in intense airstrikes on Nyala, South Darfur, Monday evening. The Sudanese army has escalated air operations, targeting RSF positions, commanders' homes, and infrastructure in an unprecedented aerial campaign.

Today marks one year since the Sudanese city of El Fasher fell to the RSF. That day, October 26, tens of thousands of civilians were slaughtered, videos emerged of people being gunned down, hospital floors filled with bodies.
Surviving children became props in propaganda videos.

Sudan’s problem didn’t start with this war. For decades, the same system kept power and wealth in the hands of a few while millions were left behind. Bashir’s regime made it worse. So what changes if the faces in power change, but the system stays the same?

Sudan’s war is a struggle between the riverain elite that has historically dominated the centre and the people of the margins who have been excluded from power for generations. I don’t see this conflict ending anytime soon.
The SAF embodies genocidal violence, regionalism and tribalism, yet it still claims to be a national army while pushing the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Since 1956, those in power have fought to protect the centre’s privileges rather than share power with the rest of Sudan. It’s the same story behind Sudan’s wars, over and over again.

When Lana Nusseibeh visited a refugee camp in eastern Chad in an attempt to polish her country's image by handing out aid a number of Sudanese refugees refused it outright.
They stated they didn't want sacks of flour but for the UAE to stop funding the RSF genocidaires.
I am standing to be Secretary-General because I believe this is a moment to act with greater urgency: to act earlier, bring people together across difference, and drive the work forward until it produces concrete results. That is how we rebuild trust in the United Nations and ensure it delivers meaningful change for the people it exists to serve.
