To ease immediate financial pressures on affected households, NHT is  implementing a temporary suspension of mortgage payments for qualifying mortgagors whose income or properties have been adversely affected by Hurricane Melissa.

The National Housing Trust (NHT) has granted a six-month moratorium on all mortgage payments for contributors in seven of the most affected parishes from Manchester through to St. Ann. This means no payments are required between November 1 and April 30, with the first payment due May 1. This update was shared during a special press conference by Dwayne Berbick, Assistant General Manager, Corporate Communications & Public Affairs, National Housing Trust.
