Devin Booker on what rookie Booker wanted to accomplish in the NBA: "Majority of those things are checked off. The only thing that's not is a championship. That's my everyday pursuit, to bring one home. Even watching the Knicks this year, I think it's been 50 something years since they won one, and how much the city appreciated that. I know what it'd mean to this city, I know what it'd mean to everyone around here. It's my responsibility to get that done." (reddit.com/r/suns/comments/1…)

By sacrificing a future 2033 first for a 2029 first, the Suns now have access to all picks 2027 through 2029, opening up potential trade avenues for Phoenix. Smart front-office maneuverability.
Full trade details: Suns receive: Miles Bridges, 2029 1st (least favorable of UTA, CLE, MIN 6-30), 2027 2nd (least favorable of BOS/ORL) Hornets receive: Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale, PHX 2033 1st

For the first time in a while, the Phoenix Suns enter this offseason with excitement than panic. Yes, they were the only team to be swept in the first round. Yes, Devin Booker will be 30 next season. Yes, they don't have a first-round pick in this year's draft. But to be an 8th seed in the West after all they've been through this season is very impressive. Everyone loves to use the phrase "exceeded expectations" when talking about the Suns' season. As cliché as it sounds, it's not even debatable. 🔸Jalen Green missed most of the first half of the season with a hamstring injury. 🔸Dillon Brooks missed 18 games after the All-Star break with a fractured left hand. 🔸Booker missed more than 10 games late in the season with an ankle injury. 🔸During the play-in and playoffs, they didn't have Mark Williams and a fully healthy Grayson Allen Their big 3 of Booker, Brooks, and Green only played 10 games together in the regular season. Yet, they finished with a record of 45-37. Suns fans have nothing to hang their heads about. The future is bright ☀️

Losing is never easy, but I feel really good today about our team and am already thinking about where we go from here. I’m so proud of this season and want to thank every single person who made this year possible. First, thank you to the fans who supported our team every single day... and the players, coaches, front office, and entire organization who worked so hard to give our community a team to be proud of. So many fans have told me how much they loved cheering on this team and were proud of how we competed for 48 minutes every game. This season introduced a new era of @Suns basketball and we have a lot more work to do, which I am truly excited about, and we are just getting started!

OKC fans only looking at free throws attempted numbers to support their side of this annoying debate is understandable from their own perspective, but it misses the point that these games actually suck to watch and are annoying. It's not really about FTAs.

I am 100% behind Devin Booker here. Last night was not a good look for our league. Let me be clear, we didn’t lose because of officiating, but that doesn’t make last night any less important. If the referees are going to demand respect from the players - as they should - then the players should demand respect from the referees. When a referee is missing calls and clearly disrespecting the players, almost mocking them, they must be held accountable. Nobody who loves this game enjoyed watching that last night. They want to see the players compete at the highest level. The league needs be far more aggressive about this kind of thing. All players and all fans deserve it.
Devin Booker WENT OFF in his postgame interview about the officiating in tonight’s game vs OKC: "It's definitely something that has to be looked into. I heard Caruso tell them to call the tech and he ended up doing it. In my 11 years, I haven't called a ref out by name, but James [Williams] was terrible tonight, through and through. It's bad for the sport, bad for the integrity of the sport. People are going to start viewing this as the WWE if they're not held responsible." "I know I haven't won a championship in this league but I have been in it for 11 years now, so to get to this point to be treated like that, for me to even be saying something out loud... It's bad. "It's my first time in 11 years but it's needed. Whatever, I get fined for it, everybody can pull the clips and see where the frustration comes from."
