Hello everyone!
I’m excited to share our special project for 2026.
We are building a new indoor restaurant at Das-e-Basi. Work has already begun, and I’ll be posting updates soon.
Our current small restaurant is no longer large enough to comfortably host bigger groups of European tourists. The new one will be able to accommodate up to 150 guests at a time.
If everything goes according to plan, it should be ready by mid-March 2027, Inshallah. ❤️

Gilgit, the provincial headquarters of Gilgit-Baltistan and centre of activity for 6 districts out of total 10 is currently receiving an average of only two flights per week.
It is widely reported that Pakistan International Airlines (@Official_PIA) is left with just a single ATR aircraft — and that too is not in good condition. Locally, this aircraft is not seen as a safe travel after multiple accidents.
As a result, the people of the Gilgit region are left with two difficult choices: endure long and often dangerous road journeys, or fly via Skardu. Travelling via Skardu more than doubles the cost of air travel. Passengers must first travel by road from Gilgit to Skardu, stay overnight in a hotel, and only then catch a flight the next day.
We will not even dwell here on the severe losses being suffered by the tourism sector in the Gilgit region, as the bulk of tourists are now choosing Skardu instead.
Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan @AdvocateAmjad_ took a strong and welcome stance immediately after assuming office, but it appears the momentum has since faded. The @IDGB_Official (Government of Gilgit-Baltistan) seems least interested, and the office of the Chief Secretary @csgbpk remains silent as well.
When the people of Gilgit-Baltistan raise their voice for the most basic human rights — reliable air connectivity — they are too often labelled as “nationalists” or even “Ghaddar.”
No one here is a traitor. The people of Gilgit-Baltistan have made immense sacrifices for Pakistan. They at least deserve 2–3 new mid-sized aircraft so that their provincial headquarters is no longer left isolated.

I am not ready to sacrifice my life for Saudi Arabia, Iran or any other Islamic country. I want to live my life.
No matter how pathetic the judiciary and police may be, there is never any excuse for extrajudicial killings.
These institutions will never improve and will remain just as broken, while many poor children continue to be overrun by the people shown in this picture.
I left the city life behind for the quiet embrace of nature. Islamabad still holds its charm, of course, but I’m certain I could never truly settle anywhere else. Those towering concrete structures simply suffocate me.
Of all the things I miss, the one I long for most is the gentle early-morning chorus of birds at Das-e-Basi. These days, that peaceful soundtrack has been replaced by the relentless hum of my neighbour’s water motor. 😂
As per Saudi Law half of Pakistani mullah’s should have been beheaded by now for molesting kids in the mosques !!!
A small yet profoundly rich gesture.
This morning, our German-Austrian guests checked out of Das-e-Basi. They have always been wonderfully generous with tips for the staff, and I’ve always admired the thoughtful way they do it.
While the group was leaving, one of the ladies quietly told me there was something left for the bellboy who had handled her luggage. After they departed, I checked the room and found it.
The amount itself doesn’t matter. What truly matters is the pure love and respect they express through these simple, unique acts — a quiet kindness that many of us could learn from. ❤️
