“In the way we have toilet rolls in every public bathroom, there should be free sanitary products.” @ellalambertnow.

Period poverty is a particular issue in refugee camps during conflict. “When you hear the war sirens in the middle of the night and you grab a bag and grab anything you can get your hands on, who thinks to pack sanitary products?” said period poverty activist @ellalambertnow.

Girls across the 🌍 tell me that stigma, inadequate infrastructure and lack of access to menstrual products disrupt their education. I partnered with @micksheldrick @glblctzn to bring together changemakers passionate about breaking down these barriers. #RightsFreedomChoice

@ellalambertnow set up @thepachaproject whilst studying at @BristolUni. The project helps refugees via distributing free reusable sanitary products. It’s now a global network of 2,000 volunteers who’ve sewn 100,000 colourful pads. @RachMcMenemy reports: bbc.com/news/uk-england-esse…

A few months ago Ella Lambert came to talk to our Year 9 students about the fantastic @ThePachaProject. Inspired by the work that Ella was doing our students have since helped by sewing 30 of their own reusable sanitary pads that will be distributed in refugee camps this summer!

Public restrooms are stocked with free toilet paper, so why not menstrual products? Long considered a major taboo, cities are starting to address the problem of period poverty and provide free sanitary pads and tampons on public spaces and schools. bit.ly/3TgJnQQ

We’re thrilled to announce that ‘Voices of Ukraine’ will now be used as an assigned text in the @BristolUni @BristolRuCz unit ‘Russia and the world’. Ukrainian voices and the Ukrainian refugee experience will now be part of the curriculum. We really couldn’t have hoped for more.

Another @ThePachaProject - @pads4refugees joint update: A thank you from Dima, director of YMCA Moldova. This was a smaller project (82 packs of pads for about 39 families) but your support is making a big difference. 💙💛 #RefugeesWelcome #EndPeriodPoverty #Ukraine #Moldova
