The Read

The American Conference has made a big statement in every week of this non-conference slate to start the season. Just continuously knocking off P4 teams. It’s time for UTSA to right the ship or their contemporaries will leave them behind.

The balloon has definitely been popped on UTSA to start the season but after watching tape on Colorado State, I think this is a very winnable game for the Runners. Getting some momentum back this weekend is important. A loss may completely break supporters before conference. 😳

I don’t like to do interviews because I don’t think I’m very good at them and I fear it can skew my objectivity. It’s why I don’t interview Traylor or current players (often). Today, I interviewed UTSA AD @LisaUTSA and I enjoyed our conversation. She answered a good portion of my questions directly, and I appreciate that. I’m not someone who asks “soft” questions. I’m committed to shedding light on the issues surrounding the program and try to be a conduit that connects the fan base with the administration. I think that’s what we did today. Please let me know here, if I missed something or if there are still unanswered questions. Thanks UTSA FAM 🫡.

Nightmare start for Arch Manning. Just threw his first int of the season. Sark has lost trust in Manning’s ability to throw the ball, calling almost all run plays this 2nd half. The Longhorn offense has been woeful. On the contrary, their defense is balling. Changes coming?

What to watch tomorrow vs A&M: -McCown’s decision-making under pressure -WRs’ separation vs DBs -UTSA’s O-line handling blitz looks -Defense’s tackling in space -DBs ability to disrupt deep passes -Amount of penalty yards These will signal how UTSA stacks up the rest of 2025.

This might be the most excited I’ve been for a UTSA Football season, not including my playing days. Top level coach ✅ Good proven QB ✅ Elite receiving threats ✅ Front 7 always solid ✅ Top CB coach ✅ Crazy fan base ✅ Why not UTSA in the CFP in 2025-26??? We lit this year!

Some are frustrated that I've predicted a loss for UTSA this weekend, but my role is to offer objectivity. My article for Sporting News outlines the financial mismatch between the teams. It's hard to ignore. Read this and let me know your thoughts? sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-foo…

UTSA Official Depth Chart. Here’s my quick observations: -Tennison is officially QB2 -Will Henderson is RB2. Fastest RB tandom in the country? -We don’t have a big physical threat at receiver in the 2 deep. -Excited for Leonard, Jones, Blackshire, Wyrick & Martin on defense

One of the more interesting things about this weekend’s matchup with Texas A&M, is Jeff Traylor interviewing for HC job there 2yrs ago. There’s quite the contrast between Traylor & Mike Elko’s style. 👀 I’d imagine Traylor would love to shock the Aggies in College Station.
