Excited to report that @joesimonssays, @GMottaTV and I will be working together on The Rip City Wrap up after most @trailblazers games this season on KUNP/@KATUNews. Sometimes it will be all three of us -- such as after the opener versus the Suns -- sometimes just two of us. Either way, tap in after the post-game show with @brookeolzendam!

Happy 41st birthday to the NES!
41 years ago today, this little grey Nintendo box made its way into our homes and into our hearts along with Super Mario Bros and changed the face of gaming forever!
What's your best game and memory of the NES?

October 14, 2009 - The Blazers kicked off their 40th year celebration by returning to the Memorial Coliseum in a "throwback" game, that included Bill Schonely behind the mike for the second half of a preseason loss to the Phoenix Suns.
Andre Miller led the Blazers with 25 points, while LaMarcus Aldridge added 20. Greg Oden scored 17 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked 3 shots.
Schonely was originally to broadcast only the third quarter of the game, but the Blazers current voice, Brian Wheeler, insisted Schonely call the second half. The game also featured the debut of the Blazers newest alternate uniform, with "rose city" across the chest in lower case writing, similar to the early Portland uniforms.

September 30, 1977 - The Blazers unfurled the Championship Banner before a preseason game against the Denver Nuggets.
The 12,666 Blazer fans in the Memorial Coliseum were greeted the champions with a 90-second standing ovation that was cut short with the playing of the National Anthem, before the crowd continued adulation with the banner dropping from the Coliseum ceiling. Jack Ramsay spoke, saying to the packed house, "All of us want to thank you."
Bill Walton led the way with 18 points and 15 rebounds in 24 minutes, with Maurice Lucas adding 16 in 27 minutes. All 13 players scored and played double-digit minutes.

president of business operations, says the team is “very close” to hiring a replacement for TV play-by-play voice Kevin Calabro. Sources say the Blazers will choose between Braiden Bell, play-by-play man for @PhoenixMercury & @GLeagueSuns, & Kyle Draper, ex TV play-by-play man for @SacramentoKings. Bell is thought to be the front-runner. Calabro will be calling games for @Timberwolves next season.
