In August, crews spent nine days clearing Boca Chica Beach of trash left behind by visitors and debris washed in from outside the area. They removed 12.25 tons from the beach. The heaviest day was at the river mouth, where the Rio Grande meets the Gulf, with 3 tons hauled off in a single day. Much of what collected there was small debris blown across the river by the wind, piling up along the bank and the south end of the beach. Every ton removed means a cleaner, healthier beach for our community and wildlife.

Boca Chica Beach is one of Starbase’s greatest assets, and we take our responsibility to protect it seriously. Last month, 12.1 tons of debris left by visitors were removed from the shoreline, including four car tires and a 5,000-gallon water tank. We are proud that the beach is cleaner than it was before we arrived, and regular grading at the entrance helps keep it that way by giving visitors safe access while keeping vehicles off the dunes.

Just wondered across this in Santander 🤔 Apparently it's a interplanetary start up, who also does mars analogs in a cave in Spain. Pretty cool!

So stoked right now
Three years since the first flight of Starship, the next generation is here. New ship. New booster. New engines. New pad and new test site. SpaceX engineers are working to solve one of the most difficult engineering challenges in history: developing a fully, rapidly reusable rocket

Grateful for a community that shows up. This weekend, 585 volunteers covered all 6.5 miles of Boca Chica Beach and removed 5,740 lbs of debris. Thank you to our partners at Cameron County, @SpaceX, @TXAdoptABeach, and @TXGLO

Earthset. The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.

That's us! 🌍 The Artemis II crew captured beautiful, high-resolution images of our home planet during their journey to the Moon. As @Astro_Christina put it: "You guys look great."

I hosted my first public outreach event about SLS and Orion in 2016. 10 ENTIRE YEARS AGO. I've been trying to get people excited for this week... FOR A DECADE.
Action. Wonder. Adventure. Artemis II has got it all. Don't miss the moment. Our crewed Moon mission will launch as early as April 1. Learn how to watch: nasa.gov/ways-to-watch/
