What gets me is how when he’s asked for the time he’s immediately helpful, and even offers a smile towards the cameraman when he thinks he’s just confused or something. This is a win for American jobs and for every customer who gets frustrated speaking with overseas operators.

Americans get frustrated when they call a U.S. business and end up speaking with someone at a call center located in a foreign country.
Language & communications barriers only make it harder for callers to get the results they want.
So the FCC is seeking comment on several ideas that could help, including
✅ Facilitating the onshoring of foreign call centers
✅ Requiring operators at call centers to be proficient in American Standard English
✅ Further cracking down on illegal robocalls from abroad through the use of targeted tariffs or bonds.
The FCC’s proposals focus on the call centers run by the communications providers regulated by the FCC. And could represent steps for the government to build on more broadly.

The NYT is reporting that despite their denials, Mary Peltola's staff and Democratic operatives flew all over Alaska in secret to find and recruit a man named Dan Sullivan.
They put him on the ballot to purposefully steal votes from Republican Dan Sullivan.

BREAKING: NYT reports that operatives with Democratic Alaska U.S. Senate candidate Mary Peltola’s campaign were behind the effort to find & recruit a candidate named Dan Sullivan to run against incumbent GOP Senator Dan S. Sullivan in an effort to confuse voters and peel votes from him.
Specifically, NYT says they have reviewed text messages and documents that reveal in summer 2025, a Peltola staffer received instructions from campaign staffers to find as many people named Dan Sullivan in Alaska as possible.
The staffer complied, going through voter records, and compiled a list. The operation “involved secret trips to far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs.”
Per NYT:
“The plan worked. This spring, a retired teacher from a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle, reachable only by air and sea, announced his candidacy for Senate. His name was Dan J. Sullivan.”
