ALT Dr. Min-Yao Jhu, Postdoctoral Researcher Associate in the Sustainable Crop Nutrition Group at the Crop Science Centre

ALT I grew up in Taiwan and completed my PhD in Plant Biology at the University of California, Davis. I have always been fascinated by the broad spectrum of plant symbiotic relationships and atypical plant organ development. From parasitism to mutualism, I enjoy understanding how plants interact with other organisms and adjust their organogenesis to accommodate symbiosis establishments.

ALT As an Asian woman scientist, I have witnessed the phenomenon of the "leaky pipeline" of women in science - many women scientists giving up their careers after becoming mothers. To support womenโs careers, itโs important to respect and support women's decisions on motherhood, and to raise awareness of the challenges women as mothers face in their careers.
