🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨:
South Carolina is expected to hire Coastal Carolina Head Coach, Kevin Schnall to take over the baseball program, per @jcshurburtt of @TheBigSpurOn3. Schnall took the Chanticleers to a CWS final in his first year as the head coach of the program (2025) with a 56-13 overall record and in 2026 he went 37-23 and played in the Tallahassee regional. While there may be some questions around his recruiting, he is one of the best x&o’s coaches in the country along with being one of the best developers in the country and seems to get the most out of his players. This is a massive win for the Gamecocks.
A new era in Gamecock Baseball begins very soon!!!

5/12 with a triple, a homer, and 2 walks. Also showed off his arm and baseball IQ. It’s been a good fall for the freshman outfielder from Hilton Head Academy!

Walker Mitchell gets into the action with a two-run home run to left!
Star written all over him
Here's a name you definitely need to know for @GamecockBSB: freshman Slaide Burd, who offers an uncommon combination of physicality and athleticism, along with huge left-handed power potential. He hit a rocket homer to right field on a fastball, absolute no doubter. It was loud.

Here in Columbia for Winthrop vs @GamecockBSB. Awfully good two-inning look at Jordan Stephens, who always tantalized with huge stuff at Georgia but looks primed to harness it at South Carolina. 94-97 with a low release/ride fastball, flashed plus CH, good cutter, developing SL.
