He really did not make out with Leia.
We know that she kissed Luke, in spite, to make Han jealous.
But yes, he does complete his Hero's arc.
Not in the image scene shared, but after the Death Star, he returns triumphant (master of two worlds & freedom to live).
You can say or imply at the end Return of the Jedi Luke integrates his spiritual Jedi training with his secular human love for his family, successfully redeems Darth Vader. He exits the story visually celebrating with his living friends & family while remaining completely in tune with the spirits of Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Anakin.
Revealing Leia to be Luke's sister was an act of genius, because it allowed the love triangle to be resolved while not only NOT making Luke a cuck, but making him an anti-cuck. By Return of the Jedi he had that on lock. He could have had Leia anytime, anywhere. Then he bowed out on a technicality, undefeated, and retired as a volcel monk with bragging rights that the only girl he ever made out with was his own sister. This is what is referred to in Joseph Campbell's schema as the "Master of Two Worlds" stage.
