This was on no one's radar... EXCEPT the @TexasNatMov. It was a pleasure to speak many years ago to the @mspireal annual conference. Watch them closely. They're surging.

Texas votes November 3. Live results from the Texas Secretary of State start at 7 PM Central: every statewide race, plus the Texas House, Senate and SBOE, by county and by district. Early voting updates each morning until then.

My latest commentary.
On October 30, 1835, the Liberty committee wrote that Texas looked "with confidence" to her sister states for aid. On March 2, 1836, the Declaration recorded that no sympathetic response had been heard. That silence is where "melancholy" came from.

“When the Constitution was adopted by the votes of States in popular conventions, it is safe to say there was not a man in country, from Washington and Hamilton, on the one side, to George Clinton and George Mason, on the other, who regarded the new system as anything but an experiment, entered into by the States, and from which each and every State had the right to withdraw, a right which was very likely to be exercised.” - Henry Cabot Lodge, in his biography of Daniel Webster

Every TEXAN should take this test. Even some of the most hardcore born and raised Texans barely pass this. I thought for sure I knew a ton about Texas history, government, etc after all these years, but I guess I need to get deported, lmao 😂

I passed the Texas Citizenship Test: 20/20, Signer. Could you? thetexastest.com/r/wbftwg1mg…
This is going to be fun.
An independent Texas would have its own citizenship test. Here it is.
20 questions. Get 12 right to pass.
Would you pass? Post your score.

Until 1913 the State legislatures chose the senators. The Seventeenth Amendment took that out. Since then the States, as States, have held no officer, no vote and no seat in the government they created. That is the keel, and it is gone.

Given the discussions about Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and England, I thought it might be time to bring this back out. I see too many "opinions" about this from people who don't understand the difference between nations, states, and countries. It's important if you want to understand what's really happening.

There is no halfway to self-government. Either a people holds the power to rule itself, or someone else holds it over them.
