police first told her they couldn't act on a suspicion. she paid for the lab test herself. and it was only ever charged as misdemeanor battery, his lawyer even appealed arguing it wasn't battery at all. he lost
In 2010, a California woman took a sip from her office water bottle and suspected it contained semen. Then it happened again. This time, she kept the bottle. She asked her fiancé to provide a comparison sample, then had the workplace bottle tested. A private lab confirmed her suspicion. DNA testing identified her coworker, Michael Kevin Lallana. He admitted contaminating her water twice. He found her attractive, he told detectives, and knew “her lips had touched” the bottle. In 2011, he was convicted of two misdemeanor battery counts with sexual-gratification enhancements. He received 180 days in jail, three years’ probation and an order to register as a sex offender. He was also ordered to pay over $27,000 in restitution.

the fbi spent 17 years and over $50 million hunting the unabomber. they had 150 people on it. a profile. a sketch. a $1 million reward. the man who finally cracked it was his little brother. and the clue was the way he wrote.

inside the cabin: bomb parts, one live bomb, and about 40,000 pages of journals. the crimes were written in two ciphers he made himself. he left the keys in the cabin too. he numbered his bombs like lab work. the one that killed hugh scrutton was "experiment 97."

fr patricio sánchez molinari had just marked another year as a priest on friday. saturday night he was saying mass at his church in guayaquil, ecuador, streamed live on facebook, when this cross came off the wall behind him and fell forward onto the back of his head. he was facing the pews and never saw it. he didn't get back up. people who'd been watching from home showed up at the church after. still no word on why it came loose

Someone called 911 after 11am. Her nephew was off his lithium, giving away his phone and car. The operator asked if he was being harmful. She said he was calm, not violent, and she'd just let it play itself out. Two and a half hours later Mobile police say they found his grandmother and aunt inside that house. Court docs allege a chainsaw. Thomas Steele faces capital murder, no bond. He's smiling in the mugshot.

At Six Flags, police said the rider was "ejected from the ride and struck other patrons." On a hypercoaster, ejected is the word parks never want on paper.
