"When had the summer charged in? It suddenly felt poisonously hot, the sunlight sharpened to a fine blade, the cut-throat, silvery shrieks of cicadas attacking from all sides."
βͺ an apt description of how it feels right now where I live

I'm curious how they will make Crazy Rich Asians into a series. If you've read the series, you know that Nick Young and Rachel Chu sort of fade from the limelight.

Gdansk, Poland on a misty evening. A favorite from a visit in 2020. Looking forward to sharing what I captured there this week.

Discord users in the Philippines may have trouble connecting to the app.
This started after the CICC warned Discord and Reddit that they could face restrictions unless they appointed local representatives.
Both companies responded. CICC then extended the deadline.
Discord has not been officially banned nationwide. However, many Globe and DITO users report connection errors. This points to a block at the internet-provider level, most likely DNS filtering, not a full government shutdown.
What users report works for now: switch to Google DNS (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1), then restart the app.

"The secret is not to worry about winning, but rather to focus on growing. And the most straightforward way to grow is to learn something. If you're ever feeling stuck, go learn something new. Read, write, think, learn, repeat.
When you're learning, you're growing."

Pretty sure people travel to experience a culture that goes beyond all this as well.
modern travel is increasingly flying 10 hours to experience a slightly different version of the same globally optimized lifestyle.
same third wave coffee. same natural wine bar. same brutalist menu. same sourdough. same beige hotel. same tasteful ceramics. same instagram lighting.
what a ridiculous convergence.
