Using annual birthday post to say if it wasn't evident I'm largely done posting here for the obvious reasons - am now mostly posting on BlueSky here:

(Will be keeping this account just for admin etc, but don't expect much actual public posting.)
Safe to assume I'm glad to see the back of this year. Maybe the door can hit it on the ass on the way out.
Headsup - Clash of the Comics 2025 featuring @SimonMiller316 is now available to watch in the UK streaming on @ustream for FREE before broadcast at 9pm on U&Dave next Friday. Golden Up.

As well as taking all the relevant stores down with its popularity, Hollow Knight Silksong is also already the second most popular game on Twitch after 10 minutes:
Never had a credit card, so can't verify my age on Steam despite my account itself being 20 years old. Sigh - anyway here's the response from Valve, guess I have to wait until they implement more options. 🙃
If you listen carefully you can hear the sound of every Nintendo social account employee of the past five years realizing they're finally free.

Would you kindly allow me to share some news?
Some of you guessed it, I’m returning to 2K to lead a series that means a lot to me as the new Head of the BioShock Franchise. I’ll be heading up Cloud Chamber and overseeing development of the next BioShock game, along with franchise extensions like the in-development Netflix movie.
While I’m excited to get started in the coming weeks, I recognize the studio restructuring is a difficult time for the team. I’m deeply grateful for the work done so far, and I’m committed to building a BioShock game we’ll be proud of and that our players will love.
For now, the firehose of onboarding awaits, and I look forward to sharing more when I can.
This is ridiculously cool & impressive - creator Littlejem (@littlejem4) built a WORKING version of the boat from The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker with a moving/talking head & documented the process:

It is with a heavy heart for me to announce that my Mum lost her battle with cancer at 9:25 this morning with my Dad at her side.
Goodbye Mum, we love you. x
Bit of a life "update" such as it is, given it's now been a year since the last one.
tl:dr - Sadly my Mum's illness has now become terminal & she's unlikely to make the end of the year, so taking care of her is understandably remaining my main focus right now.
Fuck Cancer.
Thoughts to everyone affected first and foremost of course, but also: does not bode well for Titanfall 3.
Obtained my copy this morning. The original release was my Chvrches gateway album. Though The Mother We Share was in my orbit, it was this and the singles run of Leave A Trace - Clearest Blue - Bury It cemented me as a fan.
Happy @recordstoreday ! To mark the occasion, we are releasing a special anniversary version of Every Open Eye: limited edition 2LP vinyl, collecting everything from that era. Find it at a record shop near you: recordstoreday.co.uk/record-…
