A Reflection on Life, Love, and Family on My 57th Birthday Today, as I celebrate my 57th trip around the sun, I find myself reflecting on the journey that has brought me here—filled with lessons, challenges, and countless blessings. Life has been a road of twists and turns, victories and setbacks, but through it all, I have learned that resilience and gratitude are the keys to moving forward. Love has been my greatest teacher. It has shown me the importance of forgiveness, the power of kindness, and the beauty of human connection. Whether through friendships, partnerships, or the unwavering support of those who stand beside me, love has been the foundation that keeps me strong. But above all, family remains my greatest treasure. The bonds we share, the memories we create, and the love we give unconditionally are what truly define a meaningful life. No success, no achievement, and no amount of time can compare to the warmth of those who call you their own. To everyone who has been part of my journey—family, friends, and those who have shaped my life in ways big and small—I thank you. Your presence, your love, and your support mean more than words can express. Here's to another year of growth, adventure, and making the most of every moment. Life is short, love is precious, and family is everything. With gratitude and appreciation, Ralph Avallone

FEMA has granted our request for an extension of its Transitional Sheltering Assistance program. Eligible North Carolinians in need will have an additional 2 months to find alternative housing: through May 26, 2025. This is a positive development, and I pledge to work with the new administration to support displaced North Carolinians and help folks recover.

This family in Black Mountain had over 1,000 yards of debris wash up on their property and completely transform it. Unfortunately they lost their house and have no help from FEMA. I came in and cleaned up the property. Currently working on the other side of the house now! #DisasterRelief #HurricaneHelene #WNC #SeventeenSeventySix

Members of the North Carolina delegation and I are urging President Biden and FEMA Administrator Criswell to keep vital resources needed for ongoing, hurricane recovery efforts in Western North Carolina in light of the latest natural disaster occurring in California.   While we recognize the urgency of addressing the fires in California and extend our support in whatever other ways possible, we must make sure that the resources already in North Carolina remain in the state to address urgent needs in our devastated region.

🚨Serious WNC Update🚨 WNC is facing a major CRISIS Tuesday. 3000 Helene victims will lose their FEMA hotel vouchers and be homeless. It’s a dead ass Appalachian winter until March! NC: over 156,000 homes lost/damaged CA: under 13,000 homes lost Huge magnitude difference as WNC got completely DISFIGURED topographically. Yet, NC didn’t get near the federal aid as CA. Why? Because CA has a lot of rich/famous victims. WNC is “just” mountain people. The government has until tomorrow night to extend hotel vouchers. Here are the NC politicians who MUST be held accountable to extend it threw March: @NC_Governor @SenTedBuddNC @SenThomTillis @ncspeakerhall Share this post or tag these men below! This is how you HELP WNC. We must apply pressure to save lives….🙏

It was just confirmed Hurricane Helene victims who lost their homes still have to pay property tax by midnight That’s INSANITY because North Carolina realtor who’s processing Hurricane victims grants shows victims who lost everything are only getting $3,500 from FEMA Some Hurricane victims are getting amounts as low as $300. It’s also been confirmed that FEMA and insurance companies are mass denying people who lost everything The state is also offering buyouts of their properties. It’s a land grab, which makes sense when explaining so many people are getting denied and are still receiving tax bills “Well I found out it's because if North Carolina buys you out of that house they get reimbursed 75% of it from FEMA Okay, so if FEMA can reimburse 75% of the buyout value and North Carolina has the money to do it right now, how come the homeowner can't have that money to stay put? Because the outcome of selling your property to North Carolina and FEMA with a local authorities blessing is that then they will finish demolishing and it will turn into green space.”

INSANE 🚨 Hurricane Helene North Carolina victim who’s a father of 2 children speaking out after FEMA threatened to take his temporary home 3 days before Christmas He asked to be able to stay until the 26th so he could have Christmas, FEMA SAID “NO” “I asked him. I said I have 2 children. I said I said if you really wanna take the unit, come the 26. I said just give me a day of Christmas. And he goes, no.” “So he took a day off of work to pack everything up and find someplace else for his children to celebrate the holiday.” “Like, I had bought gifts for my son and my daughter.” “Pretty much move out and threaten me”
