Today, after almost 4 yrs of study, the @ABACJS Plea Bargain Task Force launched its report. As the author of the report, I'm thrilled to see it out in the world. Plea bargaining IS the criminal system. Fixing it is imperative. #FixthePlea. americanbar.org/groups/crimi…
Exciting new work by @katie_eyer!
1/X Title IX in the Age of Textualism (forthcoming Ohio State L. J.) is now up on SSRN: ssrn.com/abstract=4941559. I use Title IX as a point of departure for exploring the qs that cts will grapple w/ in our changed interp environment of ↑ fidelity to statutory text, and ↓ admin deference.

Hey everyone! Check out this new piece by @TheaBJohnson responding to my work with @jjprescott2009 in the @IowaLawReview. She has some great insights into what likely motivates so-called “fictional” plea-bargaining, even in potentially pernicious sex offense cases.

My latest in the Iowa Law Review Online. In response to Collusive Prosecution by McJunkin and Prescott, I ask whether we need to know *why* prosecutors make deals in sex crimes cases to figure out whether they *should* do so:

Terrific post in the @LPEblog by my colleague @KathrynSabbeth about the focus on efficiency in eviction courts. The "benefits" of efficiency usually flow in one direction:
Today, @KathrynSabbeth explains how a one-sided concern for efficiency in eviction courts serves to maximize profit for landlords, while sacrificing time, money, and justice for tenants.

I was a senior in high school and saw a notice on a NYC street lamp asking for extras for MTV's Upright Citizens Brigade. I got into a stranger's van and drove to a warehouse in NJ (kids are dumb!). But it was real. I sat on a couch with Amy Poehler and she was amazing.

So how did he end up sentenced to life without parole?
