I remember in the last decade when I was in class 8th. When I was going from my school to home in 2011 during Diwali the train tickets were all booked. We booked an AC ticket for the first time as it was the only seat left & it felt like super luxury. Nowadays the 3rd AC feels normal & 1st AC feels Luxury. How people travel has really transformed in India. Even then some pessimist keeps calling 99% of India is bullshit. I mean 500 billion KMs people travelled by AC & Sleeper & only 43 billion by train. The total passengers number is higher in general category only because they are office goers and they daily travel about 50-100kms just for their work routine.
