5e is the perfect engine for gothic horror now that vampires can *checks notes* grapple without a saving throw.

Now that this has gotten some attention, I can reveal my devious plan to promote my own character sheet:

D&D's new character sheet fell into a common trap. Grouping skills by ability is bad design. It's easier to find information searching 1 box, not 5. New players don't know what skill matches what ability. You know what they do know? The alphabet. Sort skills by alpha. #dnd

This bastion system sounds badass. #DnD There's some great game designers over at D&D and I really wish this creative freedom resonated through more of the playtest process. youtube.com/watch?v=VIJSH0F3…

#DnD Price Increase Here's the new pricing: PRE-RELEASE: $60 for digital-physical bundle FULL: $70 for digital-physical bundle What about /just the book/? Is that no longer an option? In the west, I think $60-$70 is a fair price point for a quality TTRPG product.

These bullets don't jive. If it's a revision, if compatibility needs to be stated, if terms are being converted...it's a new edition. You have to admire the insistence of the marketing department, but come on. Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.

Point of clarification: Yes, D&D is trademarked. That doesn't mean you can't identify your product as compatible with that trademark. The only thing preventing you from marketing as "D&D compatible" is the OGL terms. Not trademark law. gizmodo.com/dungeons-dragons…
