In Attack on Titan, it’s said that you can’t inherit a Titan Shifter’s power by eating them if they’re already dead. So how did Maria, Rose, and Sina gain Ymir’s power by eating her if she was dead?
“Spinal fluid gave Eren hardening and gave Falco wings. So why doesn’t everyone who drinks it get a power?”
Not all spinal fluid works the same. Normal stuff just turns you into a mindless Titan.
Eren drank a special “Armor” serum, so he got hardening. Falco accidentally drank Zeke’s fluid, then inherited the Jaw Titan, the Beast Titan traits mixed in and gave him the bird look + wings.
That’s why random people don’t just start getting cool powers. It has to be the right fluid (or a special serum) + the right situation
No, it isn’t possible, because the premise doesn’t hold for Pure Titans the way it does for Shifters. With Shifters, the Titan form is generated around an intact human body that stays lodged in the nape—that’s why someone like Levi can cut Zeke out or why a Shifter can eject themselves. Pure Titans work differently: the Eldian’s body fully merges and transforms into the Titan itself. Hange’s experiments (cutting open Pure Titan napes) showed nothing but flesh and no recoverable human inside. The nape is still the weak point because it holds the remnant of the original person’s nervous system/spinal connection, so slicing it kills them permanently—there’s simply no separate “operator” to extract.
The only ways a Pure Titan returns to human form are by consuming a Shifter (which triggers a reconstruction of their body via the Paths) or the eventual disappearance of all Titan powers. Until then, the person is fused into the Titan and effectively trapped. That’s why the Survey Corps never treated Pure Titans as extractable captives the way they sometimes handled Shifters.

Miche saw the Beast Titan and still didn’t treat it like another shifter until it was already too late. What was he actually thinking in that moment?

When Bertholdt and Reiner betrayed Eren and the others, why didn’t Bertholdt’s Colossal Titan create an explosion?
Tom Ksaver’s Beast Titan took the form of a bipedal bighorn ram with curved horns, a long muzzle, and fur covering its head, neck, and upper body. Unlike Zeke’s ape-like version, it lacked elongated arms suited for precision throwing, any notable hardening, or standout special abilities that would excel against early 20th-century artillery and gunfire. Marley’s military prioritized Titans with clear battlefield roles—such as the Armored for durability or the Colossal for massive destruction—so a form that was only somewhat larger than average Titans and mainly effective at charging or headbutting other Titans was judged low-value for frontline combat.
Ksaver himself described the Titan as not particularly useful in war, which aligned with Marley’s assessment and led them to keep him in a research role studying Titan biology and past memories rather than deploying him in battle. He had inherited the power largely for scientific work (and as a form of self-destruction after personal tragedy) rather than as a dedicated Warrior, so the combination of an unoptimized animal form and a non-combatant holder made it unsuitable compared to the more aggressive, specialized use Zeke later achieved with the same Titan.

I’m currently watching Aot and I have a question. Now that Eren is dead who will Mikasa end up with?
