Labour are taking away your power to shape the future of your local community.
Their changes to the planning system takes most planning powers away from elected Councillors and giving them to unelected, unaccountable officers.
The new system only makes it easier for bad applications to get through.
Labour want to spin this as a win. But the truth is they have dithered on this for over two years- adding more than £100 to household bills. That's a failure of leadership.
🚲 TfL is taking over the licencing e-bikes across London. This is good news for riders and means more consistency in the rules. But it's also a chance to fix the issues we've seen in many boroughs.
The London-wide license must...
📍 use of technology to catch riders on pavement,
🪙 have a pricing structure which discourages bad behaviour and,
🚳 an opt-out for the Outer-London boroughs who don't currently allow e-bikes.

Labour’s answer to everything? More tax.
Ours? Back the businesses keeping our high streets alive and make it cheaper to give young people their first jobs.
Plans to reduce the number of police forces could see the City of London Police merged with the Met.
The City of London Police have a real specialism in tackling fraud and economic/ cyber crimes which could be weakened by a merger.
Concerns I raised at City Hall last week 👇

There’s still time to have your say on improving parks in #Bexley, and in particular Parish Wood Park in #BlackfenAndLamorbey.
Take part in the consultation here:

Low officer morale means more officers leave the Met Police each year than join it.
We need to fix it.
That's why I challenged Sadiq Khan on this at City Hall 👀👇

It’s nearly that festive time of the year 🎄!
Edward Ashdale are kindly organising the fundraising for the Shortlands Village Christmas Decorations, If you can, please kindly donate following this link 👉🏽 crowdfunder.co.uk/p/shortlan…
We can't keep waiting for our transport infrastructure to break before we fix it.
That's why I raised the issues on the District line, which are being raised by the @FixTheDistrict0 campaign, with Sadiq Khan at Mayors Question Time yesterday.

We must urgently get to the bottom to TfL's failures with the A20. That's why I have called for a enquiry into their handling of it, but Sadiq Khan and the Department of Transport have refused.
This new evidence that has come to light only makes the case an enquiry stronger.
MAJOR DEVELOPMENT ON UNFAIR A20 FINES
After 2 years campaigning with @LauraTrottMP and @louie_french, a Crown Court has ruled the A20’s temporary speed limit was unlawful.
The Mayor must now explain how drivers can have convictions overturned, points removed and fines repaid.

Rents up. Energy bills up. Food bills up.
Labour’s tsunami of regulations and tax rises are pushing up prices.
No Government can fully control prices, but these extra costs are battering consumers at the very worst time.

If you're wondering why the cost of your haircut has shot up, it's because salons are getting hammered by the jobs tax, soaring business rates and higher utility bills.
To survive, many are asking staff to go down the self-employed, rent-a-chair route that brings them under the VAT threshold. That makes things even tougher for those salons still directly employing people.
The hair and beauty industry lost 1 in 5 employees last year - it’s the largest loss of employment of any job type in the UK. So many young people want to start their careers in the industry. But fewer salons can afford to employ and train them.
Today I brought @KemiBadenoch and some of the Shadow Cabinet ladies to Hornchurch to speak to some of the passionate people running our high street salons.
We have a plan to help, from slashing employer NICs for 21-24 year-olds to taking most of the high street out of business rates. There is more to do and we are grateful to the women we spoke to this #britishbeautyweek for giving us ideas to keep these brilliant businesses at the heart of local communities.

I used to work for @RobertJenrick; A chameleon who will say whatever serves him best in that moment.
But how comfortable is Jenrick about Reform’s current targeting of ethnicity, defining who does or doesn’t qualify to be English whilst senior figures in Reform smear Kemi, opening up a Pandora’s box of racist content.
This is a man who used to speak with pride about his half-Israeli, mixed-race Jewish family, now leaning into a debate on the side of those who would say his own children could never be English.
The same people who would remigrate them to Israel. Who would target Zia Yusuf and Suella Braverman, Laila Cunningham, Raheem Kassam, even Danny Kruger.
Reform’s dangerous descent into the gutter of dog-whistle racism, balkanisation and ethnonationalism is going to fail, but in doing so it is going to cause irreparable damage to Britain and make it a far darker and more dangerous place.
Packed few days at Conservative Party Conference. I got to take part in some really interesting panels topics like...
🌳 the future of Conservatism,
📈 Turbocharging Growth and,
🥵 having housing that can cope with heatwaves.
A lot of fun all around!

Sadiq Khan is coming for our Green Belt!
Instead of fixing the issues that stop developers from building and people from buying, he is lazily allowing a free for all to concrete over our precious green spaces.
We need to stop him. Sign our petition 🖋 stopthelondonplan.com
At the recent Mayor's Question Time session at City Hall I paid tribute to our brave police officer and ambulance service for their swift response in Bromley.
