AI is makes software cheaper to build, but not easier to distribute
This is the core conflict for years to come

vibe coding will be dead in 1-2 years
people are not going to vibe code anymore; they will ask ai a question and get the answer
that answer can require a little app, a search, a shopping list, anything you can think of
these mini apps will be generated in real time

Europe doesn't need another AI strategy document. It needs sovereign AI that's as easy as the non-compliant alternatives. Last night we demoed what that looks like with @SambaNova and partners. Full recap: linkedin.com/posts/infercoma…

In Germany, if you want to change the address of your business, you need to physically go to someone who reads that to you and charges you for that:
🇩🇪 Notaries 🇩🇪
It's ancient.
It's unnecessary.
It needs to go.
They don't want that.
So, for the love of entrepreneurship, go here and give feedback that you want notaries optional.
It takes 4 mins.

Thank you!
Replying to @TweetsOfSumit
Yes it is absolute shameful yet predictable
Notaries notaries notaries.
Austrian and German notaries have sued startups like Notarity that in good faith helped try to digitalize them
Sumit, please take -and ask your followers - 4 minutes and explicitly mention you want notaries optional. 🙌🏻

Two weeks ago, I said EU-Inc might need your help.
That moment is now. 🥁
We need you to submit feedback to the European Commission on what startups need.
To get you up to speed what happened since last time:
The EU Parliament published their own suggestion how a pan-european legal entity standard should look like.
How you ask? By introducing 27 different entities, instead of one. By improving as little as possible, keeping as much legacy and differences as possible, and hot-patching on top of them in different ways.
Why did they publish that? No idea. It's unusual at this moment. Likely Brussels-internal power-plays.
But the timing is perfect, because the European Commission (the guys actually in charge of this) asked for feedback publicly now.
How should a pan-European legal-entity look like?
Our answer is simple:
1) ONE EUROPEAN STANDARD
So that investors know how it works and you can easily raise globally, so that ecosystems can form around a centralized registry, so that stock-options can be done europe-wide, etc etc
2) FOR EVERYONE
Because nobody knows, how startups look like in future and we don't want to have governments niche down access to the entity in oblivion. A downside-compromise of this is btw that we do push not standardization of employment and taxes.
I explain the details in the blog post
Here your task:
1) Go here to the feedback website
2) Login (they support Google Auth btw which is funny imho)
3) Write a few lines what you expect a true standard for startups should support
4) Share this with friends, coworkers, etc and ask them to also fill it out.
The form needs like 1-2 minutes. If we hit a few hundred feedback submissions we already have the most feedbacked consultation in this field ever. If we hit 1000 we break the bank and they can't avoid talking to the startup ecosystem about this. 🏴☠️
Feel free to name drop us. Us asking for your support isn't even cheating the system. That's how this process is meant to be done. Politics is weird. 🙈

EU-Inc is close to the finishing line (of the first stage) 🇪🇺
All the politicians in Brussel want "something like it". It's the #1 item on the commission's strategy. Now the hard part is to make sure the politicians have the ambition to get the details right.
You can have the same goals, but if you stack-rank priorities differently, don't understand details, or simply lack political ambition you easily end up with something useless.
We will need your help – now and over the next weeks.
First up, I wrote up a quick primer that gets you up to speed with everything that happened so far and WHICH details are important to get right.
It also gives a bit of insight into the repeating discussions we constantly have with Brussels and member states.
If we as European startup scene get this right, and implement EU-Inc cleanly – as something that startups can actually use – we will create the biggest leapfrog improvement for startups and tech-innovation in Europe in our lifetime.
Here the details: klinger.io/posts/eu-inc
Let's get this done.

This is pathetic.
The EU enters the large model training arena with...
...$56M
"This morning Brussels announced plans to develop an open source AI model of its own, with $56 million in funding to do it.
The investment will fund top researchers from a handful of companies and universities across EU countries as they develop a large language model that can work with the trading bloc’s 30 languages. The project will also tap into supercomputers from companies like Spain’s Mare Nostrum and Italy’s Leonardo, both of which have received funding from the EU."

We got RIGHT NOW a once in a generation chance to improve Europe for startups. 🔥
We got 6 weeks until the new comission sets their work agenda for the years to come. Uniting the European startup ecosystems needs to be part of this agenda!
The solution is known, it's just one out of hundreds for politicians. It's our job as industry to show how important it is.
First co-signatories are people like @patrickc, @nzennstrom, @martinmignot, @MattClifford, @Taavet, Eléonore Crespo, @jobvo, @roxannevarza and many many more coming in the next weeks. Hopefully including you! ✌️

"Innovate, don't regulate"
As a counter to the now rampant degrowth anti-tech anti-capitalist mind virus that's taken over most Europeans in 2024
The most concerning part about this is that most Europeans don't realize how stagnant Europe has now become
Europeans are literally blue-pilled and are mostly concerned with climate change, immigration and the Ukraine war
Nobody in Europe is thinking why increasingly everything they use is made in China running on American software
The knee jerk reaction is to proudly pass regulation against American tech
The chad reaction would be to reduce regulation so that European entrepreneurs would actually stay in Europe to build European startups increasing Europe's GDP and making Europeans richer!
I am European and I have regular conversations about this with people here, it's just not on top of mind AT ALL! While it should be because Europe's GDP is stagnant and the real innovation now happens in US and China and elsewhere, not in Europe
People in Europe do love to complain about rising cost of living and the increasing unaffordability of living, but they don't realize why. They point at foreigners/immigrants as the problem, which can't be the whole story
Other Europeans I talk to get visibly upset if I ask them about stagnant GDP numbers: "why should everything be about money?" they say in a thick German accent
The whole story is that Europe has made it very difficult for people to start a business, raise capital, innovate and get the reward for taking that risk, so why would anybody?
And for the Europeans that do, it's way easier to open a US Delaware company, raise capital in US, sell your stock or IPO in the US, because why even do that in EU, where it's too hard? The proof is in the pudding, if it was so easy in EU then why is startup funding in US $270B AUM with 330 million people vs $44B AUM with 746 million people? That's almost 14x bigger startup funding market per capita
Why doesn't EU have ANY trillion dollar companies? While US has six? Why isn't there any European company in the top 10 of largest companies? While 80% is American?
Why is Stripe, a company founded by two Irish brothers, an American company and not a European one? It could have been
Very few Europeans will agree with this post because they can't see it, if they would've seen it, we wouldn't be here in the first place!
What's the role left for Europe in the future?
Signed,
- A techno-optimist European who'd love to see Europe become wealthy again
Amazing how Apple did everything right to turn the perception of a awkward headset into a desirable and fashionable item which is “sexy in public”. The impact of that is so much more significant for the industry than any tech specs or features.
A lot has been said about @Humane's AI Pin already and while i share some of the skepticism i absolutely love to see this sort of fresh approach. From the network perspective i find it quite telling that the pin does NOT support 5G but comes with LTE/3G instead.
Finally a path to 5G monetization. Cheers!

Why does no calendar protocol exist that allows for automatic negotiation of meeting slots between personal calendars without giving some entity full access to the calendars? This would be a real time saver.
