Here’s what the terms actually mean...
1/ How the model-engine-LLM answers:
Inference → The model’s best guess.
Hallucination → Confidently making up crap. Temperature → How WILD the guesses are allowed to be.
Zero-shot → Guessing with no human examples provided.
Few-shot → Guessing after the human shows it a few examples.
7/ The model itself
Parameters / Weights → The numbers that store everything it learned. It's all math.
Checkpoint → A saved copy of the model.
Open weights → You can download the model.
Open source → You can download the model and actually see HOW it was trained.

It seems that entire fields have trouble recognizing when they've just became the buggy-whip maker in the automobile era. The only move to make is to embrace technological progress and get better at the new thing than anyone else.

He said that developers at his company (one of the FAANGs) were terrified to adopt AI. They're afraid of becoming obsolete.

Many folks did not understand why I have been so firmly against the entire premise of a “constitutional AI” fantasy from Anthropic. I said it on day one.
“but the models are so good though”

WHY oh why isn't there a SEARCH BAR at the top of HERMES Desktop App? If it's going to replace OS systems - I would think it might only work if the SEARCH BAR works flawlessly...
