Back in June, I called that the best move for ACB would be to merge with another company. I just didn’t guess which company it would be… I’m just happy it ended up merging with a Canadian company rather than an American one!🍁🇨🇦
Unpopular take: Canopy Growth $CGC $WEED.TO should acquire Aurora Cannabis. $ACB Combined, they’d be looking at ~$800M/year in revenue. Scale, distribution, cost synergies … it makes more sense than both companies struggling separately. Anyone else see this playing out?

After years of being promised votes on reform that never materialized when Chuck Schumer was Senate majority leader, if Democrats want to earn back the trust of the cannabis community, they need to swiftly pass legislation to deschedule cannabis, expunge federal marijuana convictions, approve cannabis banking, and more. No talk, just action. Put bills in the hands of President Trump. He may veto them, but he also has pushed rescheduling further than anyone else and endorsed recreational legalization in Florida. So maybe he won't.

"I look forward to working with him for all 31 million Texans." Texas Senator-elect James Talarico says he's ready to work with President Trump, pointing to several issues where the Democrat believes they can find common ground. Talarico gives Trump credit for doing a better job securing the border than the previous administration, while pushing for comprehensive immigration reform that includes more legal pathways and a path to citizenship for longtime undocumented immigrants. He also wants to work with Trump on cutting housing regulations, building millions of new homes and legalizing marijuana, even acknowledging that his own party has contributed to some of the red tape. | @AmericaNewsroom Download the Fox News app for live updates on midterm election coverage: foxnews.onelink.me/xLDS/z2jy…

BNN Bloomberg: What happens if cannabis is rescheduled? “If you look at the cannabis sector right now, the shareholder base is mostly retail. It is hard to access debt and access equity. Stocks trade 5-6x EBITDA. For a sector that has good growth outlook. The companies generate cash flow. It’s a very low multiple. When you compare it to other industries, you see companies that grow at low-double digits trading at 10-12x EBITDA.” Freddy Gomes, ATB Cormark bnnbloomberg.ca/video/shows/…

$CGC + $ACB for the win 🍁🇨🇦
Aurora's response is grossly inadequate and negligent to its shareholders.  $ACB has stated it has begun a process with multiple parties yet is purposely excluding the largest cannabis company in the world that's made a real bid with a clear path to value creation. $ACB is also questioning our synergies assumptions but are refusing to provide us due diligence access necessary to do just that.  Make it make sense! The fundamental question is: why is $ACB so determined to keep $CURA out of the room? $CURLF

People are talking about how penny stocks will fly once they tokenize their stocks. My take - cannabis stocks might get real capital if they were tokenized and open worldwide. Fun fact -the cannabis market is projected to pass 100B$+ and most of the world can't invest in it today

🗞️ DEA Judge Pauses Marijuana Rescheduling Hearing As Opponents Highlight Government Report Detailing ‘Gaps’ In Federal Processes 🔥-analysis: A federal judge just hit pause on the next step in marijuana rescheduling. DEA Chief Administrative Law Judge Derek Julius stayed the case after opponents asked to add a new Government Accountability Office report to the hearing record. That report says DEA and FDA have gaps in how they evaluate and schedule drugs—including that DEA has no written procedures for how staff actually do that work. This is not a ruling on whether marijuana belongs in Schedule III. Testimony already wrapped in July. Final briefs were in. The judge was expected to issue a recommendation. Now DEA has until October 13 to argue whether that GAO report should even be part of the record. Context matters. In April, the administration already moved state-licensed medical cannabis and FDA-approved marijuana products to Schedule III. This hearing is about the rest of marijuana, including adult-use product still sitting in Schedule I. Opponents want the report in the file to attack the process later in court. The government can still argue the actual marijuana record is solid because HHS studied it and DEA put on evidence of medical use and lower abuse risk. Bottom line: medical marijuana’s new federal status is not rolled back. Broader rescheduling just got delayed again. The next signal is DEA’s October filing. 🌿 Cannabis ETFs: 🌎 $YOLO 🇺🇸 $MSOS marijuanamoment.net/dea-judg…

Canada may have quietly created a meaningful tailwind for Canadian small caps. The federal government is proposing a Productivity Mega Deduction allowing businesses to immediately expense 100% of most eligible new capital investments. The expanded incentive would cover roughly 2/3 of Canadian business capital investment and is expected to cost the federal government approximately $36B over five years. That’s significant. Instead of depreciating eligible equipment over many years, businesses can potentially deduct the entire cost immediately. This lowers the after-tax cost of investment, improves near-term cash flow and reduces the hurdle rate for new projects. As microcap investors, the second-order effect is what interests me most: Who sells the things Canadian businesses are now being incentivized to buy? ⚙️ Industrial machinery 🤖 Automation & robotics 🔬 Sensors & inspection systems 💻 Technology & electronics 📡 Communications equipment 🏭 Manufacturing equipment 🖥️ Productivity-enhancing technology Canada has struggled with weak business investment and productivity growth for years. This is a direct attempt to change that. If Canadian businesses respond by increasing capex, some relatively obscure Canadian small and microcap companies could see higher demand, stronger bookings and better operating leverage. Rather than trying to predict the impact on Canadian GDP, I’ll be looking for the small public companies selling the picks and shovels of a Canadian capex cycle. Those could be the real beneficiaries.
