Okay…. But what about the roster after you trade guys to get him? You don’t get to just magically make him appear on the Devils.
This argument has so many holes.
If you add Quinn Hughes to the current #NJDevils roster, it’s a better team on paper than the current #MNWild team with Quinn Hughes.
If Quinn truly wants to play with his brothers, the Devils are the only NHL team can offer that and this maybe the most ideal time to have all Hughes brothers under contract with Jack’s $8M AAV and Luke’s $9M AAV. Quinn will say the right things to the media. His feet maybe planted in Minnesota for now but he will be ready to leap frog to New Jersey on 7/1/2027.
I was really concerned about Lyles in the preseason. He looked slow and I was already weary of playing someone that came from outside the NBA minutes. He just didn’t look like he was playing at an NBA pace.
Through 3 games, I was wrong. Really smart player who does the little things. What a nice scouting win for the front office to identify a skillset in a different league and have the confidence to bring him back over and play him.
I wouldn't mind resting him. The team is blowing the brakes off their opponent, and they have some guys on the bench who deserve playing time, like Bones and Clark.
Keep Ant healthy and trust the depth you've built.
This Timberwolves starting five doesn’t just have a ton of size, athleticism, and talent — they actually fit together extremely well.
There’s always been talent, but it’s felt clunky at times. This team feels different, like they could be far more consistently great because the pieces are finally more than the sum of their parts.
Pretty telling how much Finch trusts Kuminga already.
In Orlando, when Banchero got up from the bench, Finch would wave for Kuminga to get in the game.
Same thing tonight, Scottie Barnes checks back in the game and Kuminga comes running in behind him.
Congrats @whatsontapnba!

Really happy for Naz to get his opportunity, but it’s bittersweet.
It’s kinda insane watching former bench players of Minnesota in Naz and Nickiel breakout at their next stop, and it truly puts into perspective how good Minnesota was the last few years.
Especially that 2023-24 team when everyone was bought in defensively.
Jaden definitely learned that lesson!
I’ve got a feeling the 2026-27 Timberwolves are going to warrant a “We’ve come a long way, friends” series from @KyleTheige
If you’ve got a few minutes, this is an awesome read from Jon.
The Timberwolves knew their manhood was going to be tested this season after their offseason moves. So they tested themselves in the cauldron of “blood boiling” September workouts.
That is where this 2-0 start began.

I do think it’s a bit early for this headline.
The last thing I want after listening to people bemoan the lack of playing time for young players in recent years is to be impatient when we finally play a young player.
It’s fair to call out concerns about frontcourt depth, and what happens if Rudy goes down… but this headline feels like something that should be reserved for at least a few weeks into the season.
With respect it’s a good article that’s worth reading, just think the headline is a bit aggressive at this juncture when his struggles came from trying to guard Bam Adebayo.
Joan needs time. He’s going to have ups and downs, and honestly thought last night he was solid. Which is awesome because Goga Bitadze is one of the better backup 5s in the league. (Sarah does point this out in the article to be fair).
Wolves are willing to live with Joan Beringer’s growing pains. But for how long? startribune.com/minnesota-ti…
It’s also fun when Jim Pete comments on how smart Wolves fans are when he’s the major reason why that’s the case.
Minnesota fans are smart largely because we listen to his analysis for 82 games a year.
It’s pretty cool that someone the caliber of Michael Grady is willing to continue to call games on the Wolves local broadcast despite his shoulder getting tapped for big time national gigs.
The work ethic is insane, and I appreciate every game Grady chooses to come back to where his play by play career took off. It may not last forever, but the gesture to continue to make it work here is incredible.
@JimPeteHoops and @Grady might be the best play by play and analyst duo in basketball. That includes the fancy national broadcasts.
