Today is National First Responders Day! Thank you to all those heroes who make it their mission to take action and save lives when disaster strikes. Especially during this global pandemic, it's important we appreciate those workers on the front lines!

Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb was clear in his last answer--don't expect renewed COVID-19 restrictions. This is a complete reversal on "following the data" philosophy he had earlier in pandemic. The data now tells a story that doesn't correlate with re-opening.

Based on this model, about the same time we are finding out who the next president is, #COVID19 will be the #1 cause of death for Hoosiers. Absolutely gut-wrenching.
In Indiana, deaths have been riding and the death curve has almost exactly followed the anticipated death curve (using daily age case mix and state age group mortality data). This predicts that in about 2 1/2 weeks, #COVID19 will be the #1 cause of death for #Hoosiers.

The number of Hoosiers hospitalized with COVID-19 today equals April 23. At the time, Indiana ordered people to stay home "except when they are at work or for permitted activities, such as taking care of others, obtaining necessary supplies, and for health and safety."
