It's true. Kevin probably doesn't remember me, but I've met Kevin briefly a few times (at one point when Twitter was considering buying Fly Labs!) and Kevin definitely has founder blood. Instantly recognizable.

A fun abuse of the term is when a company operates many small truly unconnected networks. Each individual network effect is small, capped by the max size of each network (e.g. family, school, church, league, etc.), and after that they're only getting the linear benefits of scale.

Random anecdote: a PM at Google once introduced himself to a large audience noting "one interesting thing about me is that I have a Fields medal". After a long pause: "My grandfather won the Fields medal 60 years ago. I *have* the Fields Medal. I didn't win it." Got a good laugh.

(And then I would proceed to give them bell-to-bell systematic direct instruction every single day anyway, by the way. But I figured the more motivated they were to really try at their homework, and really study for tests, the better they would do. I think it was appreciated.)

When I was a teacher I told my students that the "get" in "get an education" was not meant to be "get" as in "receive", it was meant to be "get" as in "go get it". They needed to to their part to get everything they could.

Definitely triple and e6, but the third baseman didn't help when he apparently Canseco'd the ball into the stands?

You taught me the phrase "I only count victories" when I tried to thank you for something that hadn't worked out. I still use that phrase, and that mentality, today. This the ultimate fight where all that matters is victory. You got this. 💪 Wishing you the best.

That's a great joke from The Office, but Katz's is actually the best pastrami sandwich in NYC even though tourists have long discovered it. They haven't lost a beat despite the tourists, and still make the gold standard pastrami sandwich.

Curious if anybody else has had @Citibank send a check from their account to the wrong person with Bill Pay on autopay. This would make a great class action lawsuit if so.
So far in DMs @Citibank seems to want to head to a lawsuit over this. It will not end will for Citibank given the facts. Here is what I wrote to them:

I've been a customer for over 30 years, not complained about a single thing once. But when Citibank sends my money to a stranger, I expect it to rectify the situation on its own.

This is 100% Citibank's fault and if I have to jump through hoops to get it back, the hoop will be filing a lawsuit against Citibank. Return my money immediately without asking for further paperwork. Citibank is 100% at fault and has 100% of all the records.

I played no part in anything with this check. Citibank simply sent a check for thousands of dollars from my account to a total stranger! I am not a witness to forgery and I do not expect to need to do paperwork to get my money back.

It is Citibank that collected the literal picture of the check written out to the wrong person from the depositing bank, signed by the person who deposited it, not me. Citibank has that picture. Citibank has the record of where those funds were sent, not me.

Citibank can sign and notorize the affidavit of forgery itself. I have no more insight into the forgery than Citibank does. It is Citibank that made the check out to the wrong person, not me. It is Citibank that sent the check to the wrong address, not me.

@Citibank My rent is on autopay. One month you randomly sent it to the wrong person and address, a clear error. Landlord never received it, receiver deposited it. You have a pic of the check! You do not need a notorized affadavit for this! Reimburse me now! @NewYorkStateAG

They've reached out privately. I will update on the outcome. Crazy that they just send my money to a stranger, they have the full records of this, and then ask my to jump through hoops to get it back.

Remember Warren Buffet's 2 rules of banking: Rule 1: don't lose the money Rule 2: don't forget the first rule

I've been a customer for 30 years, but I will close my account over this. You cannot mail strangers thousands of dollars from my account and then require me to jump through hoops to fix it! I'm sure @NewYorkStateAG would agree.
