Some partnerships go beyond sport.
In a country fighting for its future, they become a statement about who we are and where we are going.
That’s why I am especially proud that FC Shakhtar Donetsk players – in their home @ChampionsLeague debut – will be carrying @dtek_en logo
My thanks to Chelsea Football Club for hosting us this season and for the interest of international media in our story: @CNN 's @chrissymacCNN, @dailytelegraph 's @Matt_Law_DT , @CBSSports' @jamesbenge and @samleveridge from @Forbes .
Today, our miners and other DTEK teams across power plants, wind farms and our grid network are working to keep communities connected, and to transform the energy system, in the face of russian attacks.
Both organisations are also part of Rinat Akhmetov’s SCM Group, which has become the largest investor in Ukraine’s economy since the full-scale war began.
for millions to see.
Our name on the shirt sleeve reflects a deep shared heritage between DTEK and the football club. Shakhtar means “miner" in Ukrainian and honours the generations whose work helped build Donetsk – DTEK’s home city.

I am delighted to announce that the US Government, through the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (@DFCgov ), has approved a landmark loan to finance DTEK's battery storage project in Ukraine – making it the agency’s largest loan to the country’s energy sector.

DTEK is sincerely grateful to the US Government, DFC, its CEO Ben Black , Head of Investments Connor Coleman and the entire team at DFC. We look forward to deepening the partnership together for the benefit of both our countries.
More importantly, this decision sends a wider signal: that the United States has confidence in Ukraine’s energy future, and that international investors can do business in Ukraine when strong projects are matched with credible partners.
The DFC Board’s decision has an immediate practical benefit: freeing up capital that DTEK can now invest in other projects that will strengthen Ukraine’s long-term energy security.
Over the past few days in Kyiv, I have briefed journalists and engaged with the diplomatic community on the readiness of Ukraine’s energy system to face a fifth winter since russia’s full-scale invasion.
My appreciation also to Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration @VVChentsov ; Ukrainian Minister of Economy Oleksandr Kravchenko; Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine @DmytroNatalukha
and my appreciation also to Chair of the Rada's Committee on EU integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze @IKlympush
