Just trying to raise good humans with God, common sense, enough sleep, and whatever’s left in the pantry. Real food, real talk... a proudly American homeschool.

Almost everyone CAN homeschool. Whether or not you SHOULD is between you and God but the barriers are smaller than they feel.

Y’all, I don’t even have a problem with induction, I just don’t understand why spontaneous labor is a surprise to an OB ER / LD triage that gives specific instructions for when to come in for your spontaneous labor.
Crazy fact: If you show up at the hospital to give birth, there’s a good chance there will be confusion and perhaps fluster the check-in staff if you don’t “have an appointment” for labor and delivery. Does everyone get induced now?

lol husband lmk that my post about induction broke containment by telling me it hit his TL. I’m just over here cuddling my new baby and hoping to get back to my other babies tonight 🫡 Promised a certain new big brother we’d go trick or treating.

Agenda: Just watch them get confused when you follow their own protocol?
What does preference for induction have to do with you not calling ahead to inform the hospital you’d be having your child there soon? You’re clearly a dumbass trying to push an agenda lol

Maybe, but I followed all the “supposed tos” in my what to do when you’re in labor checklist provided by my OB and birthing hospital. But while we’re on it, they also thought it was absurdly wild to choose to be unmedicated.
You’re supposed to call when you’re on the way so they can ensure they have an ob, bed & OR available just in case of c-section. Otherwise you’ll be sitting in the waiting room screaming bloody murder, unmedicated, while your contractions hit

Nah, mamas trust your bodies. I went in at 10m apart lasting maybe 50s and highly irregular and only 4-5cm dilated just because my intuition was to go. Baby was born less than an hour later, no joke.
no point in going to the hospital when contractions are 12 minutes apart and irregular

Pulled a random OB out of the hallway to catch baby cause the team was hardly assembled 😅

Not trying to get involved in the daycare debate but my 3yo does not know what to do when other kids his age (clearly in daycare) hit him and looks to me and his dad like “uh, what’s happening this is preposterous.” And that is actually how it’s supposed to be.
If you're in an absolutely desperate situation and have to use daycare, I understand, I know it's hard, but these things happen. This is a really difficult situation that some parents find themselves in. The "daycare is beneficial" propaganda is a guilt-based money grab used to socialize children into 3rd industrial revolution factory model schooling that is no longer applicable. That world is gone. Every perceived benefit of daycare can be recreated by a family caregiver at a much higher quality. I was a victim of the "you must go to daycare, or you'll be weird" generation even though I had plenty of caregivers who could have taken care of me at home, they regret it.

lol superfecta it is! That baby came so fast. 1hr in the hospital, water broke as I sat down in the delivery room, pretty sure pushes were involuntary but I helped with the final one 🥲 Anyway, he’s here.
Update: it’s looking like a birthday superfecta after all. (That’s a quadrifecta for those who aren’t familiar with horses.)

My brother, our cousin, and our brother-in-law all share the same birthday, which happens to be my due date, tomorrow. BIL is voting for the superfecta while this is my brother’s thought 😂

Get a copy of this book and review a day or week ahead of your kid. Anyone can do math.
People love to use Algebra as an example of something they think an average parent cannot teach. There are several options here: -excellent online courses exist to teach all math levels -tutors exist -adults are fully capable of relearning algebra to help their children if the public school system failed in teaching them properly -my son is learning algebra without much input from me because he can read a math book and is capable of learning all kinds of hard things

Update: Was wishful thinking. I slept all night, got a 2hr nap today and still no baby. 40w tomorrow 🙃
Can’t decide if I’m going into labor or not so I’m just going to bed. Is this a mistake?

Got the tween queen a dress for part of her Lizzie Borden Halloween costume. “This is awesome but it was really hard to put on!” “Did you have trouble with the side zipper?” “Oh, I didn’t know it had a zipper.” Y’all. To be a little girl again. 🥲

My teens, husband, and maybe even 3yo would laugh out loud if I read them this. No shortage of rules at our dinner table, don’t worry.
No, our biggest parenting mistakes have been thinking our children’s opinions are equal to ours. You are their parent, your job is to do what is best for them, that’s your responsibility. They are kids, they do not know what is best for them.

I do this at least once a month as our “oops, we need dinner” dinner but I omit the flour and instead use 1c pasta water with milk, doused in grated Parmesan and garlic salt. And usually broccoli or mixed veggies since we never have just peas.
This is always a hit wish the kids. Egg noodles cooked in milk, thicken with flour butter paste, salt, pepper, peas, a can of chicken. Tonight I threw in a big dollop of sour cream too. Easy and the kids always ask for seconds and thirds

Forcing foods on little ones easily makes a picky eater. But ask my kids, I’m relatively strict when it comes to eating meals.
Some of our biggest parenting mistakes have been forcing foods. TRY everything and if you still don’t want it, that’s fine. Plain pb before bed for kids too young to understand and “that’s the bedtime snack” for older kids. I work around known preferences bc I’ve got them too 🤷‍♀️

👀 Not my 3yo telling me “no I WON’T let grandma help me wipe” as I prepare for her to stay with him for the birth of his little brother.
Babies need their mom more than mom needs to blow a bunch of money on an out of town birthday bash. It's just selfish. Pick it back to when the kids are potty trained if it's that important
