Marco Rubio Is Punishing a Teenager For His Grandmother's Sins
This story is as outrageous as the student detained for an op-ed. A green card holding family interned for months for a crime they didn't commit. My latest w/ emails from inside Dilley:

After some initial shock, MAGA media figures like Glenn Beck and Ben Shapiro have come to embrace Vivek Ramaswamy's ad starring Amy Acton's estranged mother.

I can attest that they "knew" each other well before 2000. It was the worst kept secret in Lansing.

Mike Rogers became chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Months later, his wife's defense contracting firm landed a billion-dollar government deal.
As the couple's wealth grew, so did questions about the arrangement.
@Timodc walks @AdamKinzinger through the timeline.
JD Vance is a sociopath.

Major revelation here from @Timodc on the Mike and Kristi Rogers scandal.
We reported that she was Paul Bremer’s press aid in Iraq and that he traveled there frequently as a married member of Congress. He divorced his first wife in 2007 and married Kristi in 2010. Rogers joined the Intel committee in 2005.
In 2006, Kristi launched the U.S. subsidiary of Aegis, a defense contractor, which quickly started getting massive contracts.
Tim Miller adds a key detail: Kristi Clemens was Rogers’ finance director for his 2000 campaign. So they knew each other this entire time.
Rogers and his wife threatened to sue us over our first story. We stand by our reporting.

In 2020, Tommy Tuberville promised to donate “every dime” of his $174,000 Senate salary to Alabama veterans and their families. A June investigation found no evidence he followed through, a pledge now worth roughly $1 million.
Tuesday night, after a reporter asked about it, Tuberville told staff to remove him. Then he called the media “socialists” and “communists.”
The MAGA senator had a reporter thrown out of a campaign dinner after being confronted with an embarrassing question.

Vance: "I have never once heard Vivek say, You know what, they ran a very unfair TV advertisement against me."
Vivek: "There are attack ads on me that are outright false, that are just fabricated, attacking my business record. I don't love it."
Totally insane that our political system is set up in such a way that an industry propped up by scams and criminal enterprises can spend $55 million to try to take out a single senator.
Fairshake is up to $55 million against Sherrod Brown.

The difference is child rape. Hope that clears things up for you.
Vivek Ramaswamy’s ad is apparently unprecedented. It would be just awful to activate all the members of a politician’s family to attack them…as the Democrats did with every member of RFK’s family.

Acton's mother has been estranged from her daughter for 48 years because she sided with her husband (Acton's stepfather) when Acton reported that her stepfather had sexually assaulted her. That is different than RFK Jr.'s family, whose criticism of RFK Jr is focused on policy. dispatch.com/story/news/loc…
