Set up something fun this week: my AI assistant Misato (Grok Bot) can now use my Mac mini's Mail, Messages, Calendar, Contacts and Maps remotely. All read-only, all through MCP. The core is iMCP, a macOS app that exposes Apple's apps as MCP tools. Its imcp-server speaks stdio, which is great locally, but my assistant lives in the cloud, so I needed a real HTTP endpoint. Here's the chain: Grok Bot connector (HTTPS + Bearer token) -> Tailscale Funnel (public HTTPS on my tailnet) -> Caddy on 127.0.0.1:8001, checks the token -> supergateway on :8000 (stdio to streamable HTTP) -> imcp-server -> Mail, Messages, Calendar, Contacts, Maps Caddy is the bouncer. Without a valid Bearer token you get a 401, both locally and over the Funnel. With one, MCP initialize comes back clean and Misato sees the tools. My work calendar stays on my iPhone, which she reads separately, and she flags conflicts between the two in my morning rundown. Next up are launchd persistence and locking the bridge to localhost. If you've got a Mac sitting around, iMCP + supergateway + Caddy + Tailscale Funnel turns out to be a surprisingly small amount of glue!

iPhone Duo Pro Tip: Turn the Fixed Position Volume Control off in settings. It’ll make setting the volume much more intuitive no matter the orientation!

Okay, the iPhone Duo may be the perfect portable emulation device. Even with the onscreen joystick it’s incredibly playable. Your fingers slide so easily over the inner nano texture display!

Hey @Verizon, just got the iPhone Duo. I've been a customer 20+ years, since before you were Verizon, and just learned you now SIM lock phones until they're paid off. My T-Mobile Starlink line won't transfer from my old iPhone. You're making it hard to not fully switch to T-Mobile with moves like this. Can you help?

I found this Chinese double barrel 12ga at the LGS. It appears to be an SPM12 made by *checks notes* LANYI JUNXING CHEETAH. The plan is to make it into an SBS. I’m thinking about cutting the barrel down to 12” and doing a birds head style grip.

Here’s a mockup of what it would look like.

This mentality is why the gun community has made such little progress compared to the legalization efforts for marijuana. Why? Like it or not those guys had balls. They were growing illegally before it was legal. When it became "medically legal", they grew more than they were allowed to grow and sold to people who didn't have a medical license. Now that it's legal, they're fighting tooth and nail to repeal the sin tax most states put into place. They made it so abundantly clear it wasn't possible to regulate it any longer that in short order most states were essentially forced into legalization because it became an unsolvable problem. This is what 3D printing has done for guns, to a degree, but now we have the opportunity to blow the NFA out of the fucking water and you still have people saying "wait and see, don't do anything yet guys we haven't heard from daddy government yet to clarify every nook and cranny of the ruling". If the ruling remains there should be half a million NFA transfers tomorrow. Everyone taking off the pistol braces and throw on a Magpul MOE. Stocks on handguns. What will they do then? Do not give them even a moment to breathe.
IMPORTANT 2A UPDATE: I am EXTREMELY concerned about the cavalier attitude and in my opinion reckless advice and coverage of the NFA ruling. There are MANY layers to this and subsequent criteria that WILL NOT lead to the promised outcomes that we are seeing across social media. Take this however you'd like to, but I advise EXTREME CAUTION before you act or act on the advice of what you're seeing on social media. There are grave consequences and a LOT of grey area with VERY REAL CONSEQUENCES in which to get caught. I care deeply for this community and I do not want unintended consequences to befall a righteous cause nor those who fight on its behalf. @GunWashington @NRA @GunOwners @gunrights @2AFDN @AAGDhillon @fourboxesdiner @ArmedAttorneys @AttyTomGrieve

The Shiloh Hendrix case isn't even a close call or a grey area. She was charged and convicted of a crime for saying a word. If that's not a violation of the First Amendment, nothing is. This is one of the most straight forward free speech issues we've seen in a long time.

Since Flock loves to track our locations, it only seems fair that we know theirs. Flock Safety's new GA plant is located at 1885 Mitchell Rd, Smyrna, GA 30082 Flock went to great lengths to keep that address hidden. That probably means it should be public info.

WaffleWeather v2026.5.14.1 is live! Fixed a mobile layout bug on the Records page: The 4-column table was overflowing on mobile, squishing labels into values. Each metric now stacks cleanly with its three time-period values in a 3-column grid below. github.com/timothybrown/Waff…
