Worked with the students of the 7th and 8th grade orchestras today. They are going to rock their concert this week! if you have a school orchestra in the area and would like a GSO sponsored visit/clinic, let me know!
Lunch break during GSO auditions. Heard some really great playing so far! The Matietta Square Market has too many good options….
Requiem Americano premiered last night to a wonderfully receptive full house! It has been a long journey with this piece, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have shared it with so many people.
Quia cuncta creata necesse esta labefacta senscere tandem (?)
Rehearsals are underway for the premiere of the requiem. Between rehearsals I refine the goals for the next one, and use probably too many sticky notes in the process (not pictured are the discarded ones.)
Concert is this Saturday, see you there! georgiasymphony.org/event/we…
While it is pretty standard for foundations dedicated to composers to list upcoming performances of their works, I found this one to be a little more meaningful this time around.
Really good rehearsal last night with the Georgia Symphony Chorus. A lot of hard work on the requiem and it's paying off. Hear the premiere on May 17th! georgiasymphony.org/event/we…
Copland's Appalachian Spring and the premiere of my Requiem Americano. Two perspectives on American life. May 17th. Looking forward to seeing you there! georgiasymphony.org/event/we…
Great rehearsal last night with the GSO chorus in preparation for the premiere of my piece, Requiem Americano. May 17, hope to see you there!
There is a first time for everything, including conducting a performance with a broken tooth, as was the case this evening. Appointment already set for first thing in the am.
See you all in a bit to talk about music and society! georgiasymphony.org/event/ma…
