Things are very concerning with the pandemic Not just vaccine distribution but outbreak itself It's bad Yesterday we had more than 4,000 deaths from COVID19 Highest single day ever But story is worse when you look at cases, hospitalizations And thus, urgency to act Thread

Game change. This is a great day for patients as Pfizer (where I serve on the BoD) announces final top line results from the phase 3 trial with its Covid-19 vaccine. We should now have two vaccines that could effectively end the U.S. epidemic next year if everything goes right.
BREAKING: We are proud to announce, along with @BioNTech_Group, that the Phase 3 study of our #COVID19 vaccine candidate has met all primary efficacy endpoints.

President Trump, advisor @SWAtlasHoover arguing there's lot of false coding of COVID This is junk news Like junk food, junk news tastes good but has no nutritional value So what are the facts? Don't hospitals get more $ for COVID? Thread on hospital billing, COVID, and fraud

New collaboration with @aetioninc and FDA represents right balance between research innovation and improved development efficiency for covid therapeutics. As the world copes with #covid19, it's critical we understand risk and benefit in real world settings fda.gov/news-events/press-an…

Great to be at the beautiful #NiagraFalls #NiagraLake for @CDHoweInstitute health retreat as #Ontario goes “all-in” for integration as 20 agencies are merged, structures flattened and new #OntarioHealthTeams are created which will serve local communities: cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/w… – at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario

1/ Do doctors and hospitals need to have "skin in the game" in value-based contracts? My unpopular opinion- yes. But the game needs to be fair If Medicare and other payers push downside risk, they must improve two-sided models. modernhealthcare.com/article… via @modrnhealthcr

We spent a lot of time talking about collecting health data, assuming that's the goal. But the bigger question should be: Once we have it, what shall we do with it?
