“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9
Wow…
🚨 SUMMARY: The OBR forecasts following John Healey's Budget
- Welfare spending will rise to £431.3bn by 2030/31 - an increase of £97.5bn a year in cash terms
- This includes £209.8bn on pensioner benefits, £110.7bn on Universal Credit, £69.6bn on disability benefits, £13.9bn on Child Benefit and £27.2bn on other welfare
- Inflation will peak at 3.75% in early 2027, up from the earlier prediction of 2%
- UK GDP growth will slow from around 1.25% in 2026 to 1% in 2027, before climbing to 1.6% in 2031
- Average UK unemployment will rise to 5.1% across 2026 and 2027
- The Employment Rights Act will "likely" have a negative economic impact because of reduced flexibility and greater uncertainty for businesses
- The landlord tax increases (property income) could contribute to a long-term rise in private rents and discourage landlords from entering the market
- Real household disposable income per person will be around 0.75% lower in 2030-31 than it expected in March 2026
- Higher earnings and frozen tax thresholds will increase income tax and National Insurance receipts by £9bn in 2026-27 and around £8bn on average in subsequent forecast years compared with March
- Net migration is forecast to fall to 120,000 in the year to mid-2026, then gradually rise to 230,000 by the year to mid-2031
- Nominal weekly earnings growth will slow to around 3.5% in 2026, then average roughly 2.25% a year
- Andy Burnham's first-time buyer scheme could raise house prices by increasing demand without enough new homes being built
In 2010, the minimum wage was £12,064 & the higher earner band was £43,875.
The 40% tax was 3.6x the minimum wage.
There was incentive to aspire for more.
Now you pay 40% tax if you earn £50,270 which is just 1.83x the minimum wage.
No point in working more or taking risk.
Is that it?! #TheBudget
What happened to King of the North @andyburnham riding down to Westminster to save us all?!
4p off gherkins?
40p a week off energy bills?
Is that really it?!
Just saw an 8th grade kid called Miles Fincher out of Dallas, TX throw an unbelievable spiral…
Future NFL QB?
“There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise is health” - Proverbs 12:18
Mad how rubbish @YOSushi is vs 5 years ago. Food quality is shocking now days.
Has @andyburnham actually done anything other than promote Andy Burnham on Social Media since becoming PM?!
The man’s on it 24/7 trying to convince everyone he’s just a normal bloke, doing normal things, in a normal way?
All a bit odd.
Americans are close to major protests over paying the equivalent of £1.06 for a litre of petrol (gas)… meanwhile here in the UK we’re paying £1.77+ like it’s nothing 🙈🙈

I was so honored to be able to attend King Charles III’s address to a Joint Session of Congress. Simply put: The King nailed it.
His speech was a much-needed morale boost for Congress, as he glowingly praised our nation and highlighted the role Congress plays in our democratic republic.
The speech was a terrific combo of wit, humor, history and appreciation. I believe most members of Congress feel better after the speech than they did before. Though I will admit it was a bit odd that the unifying feeling had to come from the King of England… but so be it!
Nice speech by @realDonaldTrump but @RoyalFamily (King Charles) was sublime.
A speech of the ages in the US Congress.
A masterpiece of diplomatic craft, elegant probe & forward thinking. A speech for the American people & not one just to appease their head of state.
Bravo!
. @RachelReevesMP should abolish Stamp Duty.
It’s depresses economic growth and discourages people from moving — especially downsizers, growing families, and workers needing to relocate.
It would also help offset the interest rate rises which will be needed to curb inflation.
So blessed.
Lovely family. Wonderful co- workers. Warm home. food in my fridge and a fun game of Padel with a quick beer after work.
Thank you Lord 🙌🏻
I feel someone needs to expose @hexclad and @GordonRamsay as their pans are awful.
Not even close to “non stick” worst pans I’ve used. Better pans for £5 in Tesco IMHO
