JUST IN: @Algorand is putting post-quantum security in the spotlight as CEO William Herkelrath emphasizes that every system used by banks will eventually need to be upgraded.
He stressed that the transition is unavoidable, stating, “Everybody's going to have to update.” Adding to the significance, a @Google research paper reportedly references Algorand as an example of a real-world post-quantum deployment.

Algorand Foundation releases open protocol for verifying AI agent approvals
@Algorand and Pera Wallet (@PeraAlgoWallet) released AC2 this week, an open protocol that replaces chat-based AI agent approvals with hardware-bound passkey signatures. Approving an agent's action produces a cryptographic record of who authorized what, and when.
The design also keeps API keys on the user's device, with the agent receiving signed authorization instead of the credential itself. The @AlgoFoundation describes the protocol as blockchain-agnostic, with a reference wallet live on GitHub and both major app stores.
